Text translation:

Deprived of his three tradesmen (Camille Lopez, Patricio Fernandez and Luke Mc Alister), all injured, Franck Azéma has decided to trust All-Black, Isaia Toeava for the first round of the double confrontation against the Sarries. The Scott Spedding tenure at the back provides strong guarantees and a certain versatility especially in the management of footwork. Morgan Parra will complete the hinge and wear the captain's armband in the absence of Damien Chouly, forfeit due to contracture in the neck.

10 changes come after victory over SU Agen last week. Left to rest, the third line Judicaël Cancoriet - Fritz Lee - Alexandre Lapandry will be titularized against the champions of Europe in title. Alivereti Raka and Sitaleki Timani are also returning after being spared last weekend. In the middle the international pair Fofana -Lamerat associated only once this season (at the reception of the Stade Français) will start on the lawn of Allianz Park.

Etienne Falgoux continues his rise and will sign his second tenure in the Champions Cup (after the reception of Ulster last season). The left-hander trained at the club will start with Benjamin Kayser and Rabah Slimani while Beqa Kakabadze, John Ulugia and Aaron Jarvis form a first reserve line. In second line to counter the power and organization of the Saracens is Sitaleki Timani who was preferred to form the team with international tricolor, Sébastien Vahaamahina. Author of an excellent month of November, Flip Van Der Merwe will be a reinforcement of weight on the bench Clermont.

Contrary to Damien Chouly, embarrassed all week by a contraction on the neck, Alexandre Lapandry will take responsibility for the alignment of Auvergne and will form a third line very complementary with the powerful Judicaël Cancoriet and strategist Fritz Lee. Peceli Yato will be used in "impact player" during the meeting.
Behind her pack of forwards, it is Morgan Parra who will be in command of the game of "yellow and blue" while Isaia Toeava finds the post of opener where he was formed. Well bound by the enormous experience of Morgan Parra and a pair of centers (Rémi Lamerat - Wesley Fofana) as creative as affinity, the All-Black can count on his great individual technique, his defensive solidity and his vision of the game to meet this challenge. Charly Trussardi will be, for the first time in his career, in the group for this Champions Cup game while Damian Penaud could bring all its freshness and explosiveness during the second part of the meeting.

In the back of the field, Scott Spedding will be a solution to relieve the hinge by the length of his foot game while being a defensive guarantee under the probable English candles. Alivereti Raka and David Strettle will be lined up on the wings while Nick Abendanon completes the group for the third day of the European Cup.

Our main problem is that we don't have any fly half.
Isaia Toeava will play 10, but it is not is position at all.
That could be your chance.

This is a good chance to grab a win against a depleted Clermont side. Really looking forward to watching Parra play, one of my favourite players. He provides Clermont with such a good rhythm of play and is an absolute general when it comes to marshalling his forwards and midfield.

We are hardly at full strength ourselves

Billy Vunipola
Mike Rhodes
Maro Itoje
Schalk Brits
Dominic Day
Liam Williams
Duncan Taylor

All missing through injury and at least five would have been starters.

No pushovers in this competition and the hand of fate has not been good to us over the last couple of months.

Go Sarries

Weather forecast for Sunday is very cold/wet with a chance of snow even. Not convinced that that gives us any advantage, whereas a couple of years ago I would have said it did. On paper looks like a very strong team. However.....

We must be due an outstanding performance again soon, so this would be a very good match to deliver it.

Wrap up well (Sm24)

Clermont have a lot of players missing but that’s still a very strong looking team and decent bench
