Under the circumstances, the strongest team we have available.

Forget the last game, remember Toulon away last season, go the Sarries!

To all those in France have a great weekend (Sm42)

Pleased to see Nick T on the bench, I'd like to see him and Earle get some more playing time in this one.

The best we can put out.

Lets hope their heads are in the right place this week...

think Nathan should have started along with Nick T as well. I remember the Toulon game at home last year - Nick was brilliant.

I think you have to give the team that messed up the opportunity to put it right.

Here is hoping that CA underestimate us as well...

9 of the starting XV also started in the final last May. We have not become a bad team over night. If we can get off to a good start the belief will come back and we have a chance. A bit of luck wouldnīt go a miss either.

The 2nd and back rows are clearly not the best we have ever put out, and they are going to really need to step up, but we know they have it in them.

I actually think Ben Spencer starting could be a blessing in disguise, hopefully we will look to play an attacking game and stretch their defense, which has been pretty poor this season.

Itīs my first game of the season, canīt wait.

The bench looks half decent, what an opportunity for 20 to 23, all academy lads to go along with our other academy lads (Farrell, Kruis, George, Isiekwe, Spencer) come on you Sarries!! Let's get that winning habit back

Don't forget Alex Goode & Jackson Wray!
Strictly speaking I'm not sure if Ben Spencer is actually an Aceademy product as he came from Cambridge RUFC???

Either way 10 or 11 academy products in a European cup match speaks volumes for our academy!

I can't help but think we needed a change at 14 for this game - ASM made all the running down that channel

+1 and to AB and Waldo.

Maitland had a shocker and Earle was a real plus when he came on and I'd have liked to see that rewarded. Likewise at centre where Bosch spurned a couple of great overlaps and got his defensive spacing wrong too frequently. Both need to deliver big time in this game to vindicate those calls. Can't help but feel the squad needed a bit of a shakeup, especially in the backs, but with Barritt out I can understand the call to disrupt it as little as possible.

All the best to the team and travelling support and I hope Spencer and Isiekwe have good games to further establish themselves.

Feeling very nervous ahead of this game and not hugely reassured by McCalls talk about testicular fortitude and clear-the-air meetings. Brains rather than heart have been the main missing component so far this season in my view.

Interesting watching the Exeter game as for all that they fell short (would they have with an even half-way competent referee?) they switched things up tactically and learned a number of lessons from their previous game. It's pretty much unique in rugby fixtures that you get this back-to-back club game that allows you to immediately address issues from the week before so I look forward to signs that Sarries brains-trust have been doing their work.

If we spend the game kicking the ball away and trying to defend to a victory then we will likely get what we deserve. Hope remains though that the team can deliver to its potential.

It could be worse, I suppose. We could be playing La Rochelle....(Sm27)

yes, agreed, Saracens need to mix it up a bit. Our predictable patterns and slowly choking the life out of the oppo doesn't work if the oppo are able to match us up front.

I'd like to see a bit more variety in the backs. Yes, Clermont defend well, something they've probably learnt from us; however a bit of inspiration from Owen and our two centres would be extremely helpful..

maybe Loz and Owen keep switching at first receiver, keep Clermont guessing? Help me out here Chaps, I'm trying to do more than just put my photo up in a french pub on the sewshal meeja....

Chiefs were 17-3 up at one point (17-9 a H/T) and went on to lose 17-22. Very Saracensesque of late.

A massive challenge for our guys today. They can do it, we have the team to do it but given the performance by Clermont last week we realistically start with hope rather than expectation.

BTW latest weather forecast is dry, cloudy, 6C.
