So much better than i thought it would be. And a decent bench as back up too. Who would have thunk it.

Good to see that they've chosen Whiteley as the replacement 9!

Figallo apart, the bench is very inexperienced.

Surprised no second row cover on bench

Also pretty pleased with this. Definitely one of the better teams we've managed to cobble together during the 6N in recent years.

Bench looks a little lightweight. Where is Nick Tompkins?

Stronger than I expected, but no lock on the bench or anyone who can move in from the back row from what I can see. Can Skelton do a full 80? If Liam W is too injured for Wales, is he fit enough for us?

Although not the strongest bench ever I agree, but given the circumstances I think that bench has a good mix of speed power and flair and I'm more than confident that each one of them can come on and do a decent job. I guess we are spoilt with the riches that normally make up the 23 on match days.

No weak spots in that line up at all and a decent bench.

You have to feel for Nick Tompkins though after his recent performances.

As mentioned Dom Day must be still injured. This is the match we needed him for. Interesting then that two back rowers were selected in preference to Flanagan who I thought had a good run out last time...... unless he's injured as well! On the assumption that Skelton can't do a full 80 I guess the plan is for Nick I to do 80 and then put Clark into the second row giving choices for who then goes into the back row.

Pleased with that squad. Much stronger than I thought we'd be able to field and I'll enjoy watching Spencer and Lozo together. The 23 makes me think Clark is cover at lock which is a stretch. Needs must I guess. Great to see a number of players returning. I look forward to us getting the ball to Williams rather than relying on the opposition to kick to him.

Looks like a very strong Falcons team to me with threats all through the backs division and players like Sinoti Sinoti and Goneva have the individual genius to undo our defence in a similar way that Roko did away to Bath despite us being otherwise is control of the game.
I think in Green they have one of the form (possibly the) locks in the whole competition. Should be a very good game and I am sure we'll be taking nothing for granted.

Disappointed not to see Tompkins given a chance (unless he's injured but that didn't appear the case in his last outing) The coaches rotation of players is a strength but I am getting a touch disillusioned with how some young players with great potential are being used. For me Bosch needs to up his game massively for his start to be justified.

Who will go to lock at half time when Skelton is spent?

Bad news if Nick I or Clark get injured.

I was a bit surprised Graham got retained by England - or is he not good enough to make the Newcastle side

He looks a bit on the short side for that! Hard to imagine both Day and Flanagan are injured, so one would expect there to be a contingency plan!

Calum Green is a very good lineout second row (as my fantasy team will confirm!). I'd be aiming to kick infield a lot and take as many scrums and quick taps as we can.
