Kick-Chase and Breakdown

From a spectators perceptive, yesterday seemed like a repeat of the Exeter and Clermont games. When the kick-chase is so ineffective and inaccurate why not revert to the field territory game. At least then, the obvious deficiences at the breakdown would occur in the opponents half of the pitch creating less danger. Faz is an expert in playing the game in the right areas and is sorely missed during the international periods. Why are Sarries so inept during his absence and seemingly unable to change tactics during a game? Playing practically the whole of the first 40 minutes in your own half is a recipe for losing and spectator apathy. The second half wasn't much better!

During our worst periods this we have blindly kick chased and the tried to defend. We should have learnt how to change if it wasn't going well but we haven't.

We didnt kick quite as much second half but we didnt have a new game plan either
We do seem inflexible if game isnt going to plan but we are also missing our main leaders on pitch

Would have thought a combination of Brad, Goodey, Brits an Burger would offer plenty of leadership!
Kick chase was poorly executed along with just about everything else

Not sure why we look for all the complicated reasons for why we lost. Poor execution in just about every area that matters.
Gainline collisions lost
Late getting to the breakdowns
Handling poor
Just about lost the set pieces

Leadership was not the issue specifically, nor changing game plans.

Right now I chalk it up to a bad day at the office. Roll on next week.

I don't think our game plan was any different to normal. It's just we executed the kicking and kick chase very poorly. Ben's box kicking in particular was very average. When we went though our poor run before Christmas it was largely down to Wiggy being out of form and his box kicking being poor.
