(Saturday) SUNDAY InExeter
Innings (IP Logged)
28 February, 2018 22:40
With a new weather front, cold and very wet, coming up from the south and due to meet the Beat from the East over SW England late on Friday, the forecaster tonight was unable to offer any forecast, other than bad weather. It might be warm enough for heavy storms of rain, or cold enough for greater blizzards, or possibly dry. On the balance of probabilities, it appears that it won't be a great day for travelling to Exeter and back. A pity, because I enjoy going to Sandy Park, but not worth the risk.

A Chiefs fan in peace. Such a pity that the weather is set to be absolutely pants. Weather here in Exeter is ok at the moment but as you have already indicated we have been issued with a red weather warning from 3pm today & overnight into tomorrow.

If you do travel down I wish you safe travels.

Having trouble getting out of the village, let alone to Exeter. At home in front of the box for us sadly.

Putting it into perspective, my niece, a highly specialised nursing leader, has been stuck in an hotel in the Midlands for three days, unable to get home, or to see her patients and team members.

If the forecasts are correct, there's no way Exe v Sarries will go ahead on Saturday.

Our game against Irish on Sunday should survive, so with no slip-ups we'll move above you into second, and you'll need to find a spare weekend to play the rearranged fixture.

Can I be the only one who thinks - from a Sarries' perspective - a postponement would be a VERY good thing indeed?

After the last game and the injuries and the weather, it would be a real blessing if the game was postponed.

I think Exeter will move heaven and earth to play this game...

The chance to beat the no2 team with so many internationals away and injuries.

They may not get another chance like this again this season...

The Met Office itself is actually based in Exeter so fingers crossed they should be watching this. Either way its looking like the game is going to be delayed based on the forecasts.

If Sunday do we lose our England players George Kruis, Nick Isiekwi, Alex lozowski and Nathan Earl?

It was said at the beginning of the week that the England players leave camp Thursday and report back Saturday evening. They only kept 17 this week so the fringe/bench players will go back into camp for the France game.

Would be cruel if that happened.

Just asking.

Chief in peace

The game could likely have been played but for the same reason your game against ASM was cancelled supporter safety would have been a major consideration for the delay. With so much wet snow on the ground and 10k of supporters walking over it, It would have been a potential elf and safety nightmare.

Better safe than sorry considering there is no on site parking furthermore the Wobbly bridge is enough of a health hazard without a layer of snow and ice on it. Not to mention some of the bus routes around town have only just today re-opened today anyway so they did the right thing delaying it.

Also big thanks to all those Sarries fans who did travel down and safe journey back home.

Trust me, The Sarries fans where heard..

Hopefully also next time the weather is a little more agreeable on the scheduled fixture date allowing more to travel. Still great to see so many did come down despite the game being rescheduled. Thats something we appreciate as having a good traveling support always makes the atmosphere that little bit better within the ground.

Best of luck with the rest of the season and hopefully we meet again before the end of it.. (Sm100)

Agree Tom A Hawk thats fair enough but disappointed for 150 other Sarries fans who had to cancel!
Think BT has a big say in things too!
