To pre-empt a thread on Monday...

1. The seats at the London Stadium are a long way back from the pitch.

2. It's unlikely that any of the entertainment will be allowed on the pitch, it will all be on the ample space between the stands and the pitch.

3. The acoustics in there aren't great.

4. In the seats, you do feel like you are a long way from the action.

5. The bar queues can be slow, albeit not as bad as at Wembley.

6. It's a 10/15 walk from Stratford, with queues sometimes to go back to the stations or to get off the Olympic Park back into the shopping centre / bars and restaurants area.

7. It's not Allianz Park ;-)

7 is a little off the mark, but (having done a fair bit of work there so had plenty of experience of it), just to warn everyone that the London Stadium isn't quite as people may want it to be. Hopefully everyone has a good day though!

As a west ham fan, my tip is do not go through the shopping centre to get to the Stadium. Leave the station and use the side roads

A few tips from my time there volunteering at the world athletics last summer:

The main bridge leading off the shopping centre is the busiest entrance (bridge 1). If the queues are beyond the safety barriers ie more than about 20 metres long its worth heading left to bridge 5 (3 mins walk) or right to bridge 2 (6 mins walk) where the queues tend to be shorter (especially bridge 2).

You can access via any bridge and then the walk around the stadium to your entrance doesn't take long. You may be able to do an internal walk round the stadium (similar in style to MK stadium in that respect) enjoying the different perspectives, a photo opportunity at the end where the olympic flame was etc before going to your entrance.

It isn't perfect as highlighted above but it is our first visit to an iconic stadium that hosted rugby world cup games successfully and has some upsides to compensate for the imperfections that will no doubt be aired somewhere depending to some extent on what happens in 24 hours or so...

Guys/Gals - it's a 3.00pm KO. Get there early enjoy the bounteous temptation of the East End and leave for the Stade in bon temps.

Drinking in a shopping centre is my biggest fear!!

I went to the stadium during both the Olympics and the RWC - no entry problems, but I wasn't leaving it until the last moment.
