Saracens Women vs Gloucester-Hartpury

Just wanted to have a 'shout out *' here for the Sarries Women in the first leg of their semi-final versus Gloucester-Hartpury.

I was watching via Twitter and the score just kept ticking upward and upward! 0-62 final score.

"That was some of our most imposing, aggressive and cohesive rugby we have played all season, with and without the ball. We knew the challenge that Gloucester-Hartpury would bring and we knew we needed a full eighty minute performance to get what we wanted and needed out of the game." -Rob Cain, Head Coach.

I think it's fair to say that he got that 80 minute performance!

* as the youngsters say

Also worth pointing out that the return leg is at AP at 6pm this saturday.

Preceeded at 2pm by the Storm v Barf.

Pity about the two hour gap between matches,

Without wanting to put a downer on what was clearly a great game for the Sarries Women, I must say that women's rugby will never really take off until it is more competitive. Results such as these have been commonplace this season - Sarries, Quins and (kinda) Wasps are so far in front of everyone else that the season became a bit of a sham. Sarries Women averaged a 25 point win throughout the 18 game regular season.

As I said, no doubt a great win for Sarries. But the whole campaign needs to be more competitive than it is at present for the league to really kick off (IMO).

tbf the 2 in season mtaches against Glos-Hart were a draw and a one point win so it seems the best 4 teams have got to the playoffs no one was expecting Saturday's result!

Hopefully, other teams will build over the next few seasons to become more competitive

Well I will try and see if my Goddaughter wants to come and watch it.

If you hear the basics of rugby being explained throughout the 80 minutes that will be her setting me right! (Sm67)

I will be going to both these games on Saturday. It's a shame the Women's game isn't free as it will be hard for me to get my mates to come to this.

Kudos to the club for advertising this on the 'fish nonetheless! Top stuff.
