Ali Crossdale and Joel Kpoku start for England against Argentina on Wednesday evening so congratulations to them both. I can't seem to find this anywhere on TV whereas in previous years the whole thing has been televised. Welsh language channel S4C seems to be showing the Wales games but that's about it.

Does anyone know if/where this is being streamed?

Highlights of the group stages at midnight on ITV4 - otherwise I assume it's the same as before - via the World Rugby website and their Facebook page.

FT England 39 - 18 Argentina

Stand out player for me was Olowofela.

Joel Kpoku was also very effective.

England won again, in an easy group and look nailed on for a semi.

It may not have been a great Italy side (although they did beat Scotland) but Marcus Smith was outstanding

Ibitoye is deceptively strong, if Quins can keep him they will have some serious pace on those wings with Ibitoye and Earle next season!

Morris at fullback to rotate with Chisolm once they put Brown out to pasture.

Joel Kpoku starts again tonight against Scotland (20:00 BST). My guess is that it would have been his turn to be benched but with Leicester's lock Sam Lewis out of the tournament following his red card, no rest for Joel.

Ali Crossdale coming home following his early injury in the first game - hopefully Stretts will be able to reassure him that a long career is still possible after seeming to be injury prone earler in his playing days.

Smith (rested) and Curru (bench) England's best players v Italy imo, though the entire back row (Willis jnr and the delightfully named Basham) have impressed me. Interesting that with Grayson at FB we're starting our third Fly Half in 3 games.

A (highly probable) win is likely to see us seeded 2nd and play SA (possibly France - their game should be interesting) in the semi, NZ No 1.

NZ still need to beat the junior Aussies who are generally a handful at this level. they seem to reserve their best performances for their neighbours

its odd the way things turn out - was expecting the 2 semi-finals to be Eng v SA and NZ v France. however, was expecting that to be 2 v 3 and 1 v 4 not the other way around

I thought the same JO'G, though you made a good call re the possibility in your previous post.

There is some serious boeuf in that French pack; huge, mobile and with good offloading skills too. They slaughtered SA in the first half, but the Saffers never gave in and came back strongly with some good rumbles. NZ v France set to be a cracker - likely to provide the champions I feel. Our semi also hard to call - SA just shading it just for me, though with a bit of Smith magic who knows?

England need to work out who their fly-half is as a first step. They rested a number of players for Scotland. I think they should proceed to the final.

Hopefully the NZ v France game will be a bruising affair making the winner too weak to compete next weekend.

We saw last year that England suffered badly in the pool games with injury and were no match in the final with their effective 2nd string back. five games in effectively 3 weeks is a hard old battle and a really hard game in the semi-final is to be avoided if possible

Plus we have Charlie Walker. We also have a young Lithuanin lad in the academy, Jonas Mickalcius. Started as a backrower and converted. Scored a bagfull of tries for hartpury (goes to uni there) thee season before last, but unfortunately missed all last season with injury (picked up in the 7s). Another who is very quick, but built like an ox!!

Bruising it was! There was a shot of the NZ bench towards the end of the game where the number of ice packs on show illustrated just how brutal they found the match. The French behemoths were impressively mobile with great stamina too. NZ were out muscled and their handling was poor, perhaps due to the physicality. French scrum massive.

Disappointed to see the French player (and medic) feigning a stamp on his head, though Dickson (and Hughes?) dealt with it very well. Dickson was calm throughout, though both sides pushed the offside line and there seemed to be a nasty block on the French 10 near the end of the game.
