Who doesn't want a cool drink of anything right now, anywho team and blurb for the sevens this weekend, hope their fit... Gonna but tough weather for it....

-----------------------------------

Ahead of the Premiership 7s at Franklins Gardens on 27th and 28th July Saracens have named their squad for the competition.

The line-up for the competition includes three players who featured in last year’s competition with Tom Griffiths, Rueben Bird-Tulloch and Rotimi Segun all included.

10 of the 12 players named for Saracens are part of, or have graduated from, the club’s Academy system while Ratu Naulago and Miteli Vulikijapani join up with the men in black as guest players from Army Rugby. The side is skippered by Joel Conlon.

Ahead of the competition getting underway Saracens Academy Manager Mike Hynard said: “The whole squad are really excited, and very much looking forward to, the Premierships 7s this weekend.

“We have an exciting squad with a great mix of senior players, Academy players and a couple of new faces who are keen to showcase their skills.

“The Premiership 7s is a fantastic opportunity for players to pull on the Saracens jersey early in the year and show their intent for the new season. I know the players will bring a huge amount of energy and enthusiasm this weekend and we’re looking forward to the competition.”

Saracens will open their tournament by facing last year’s finalists Newcastle Falcons at 18H15 before taking on Leicester Tigers in the second of their Friday night fixtures in the penultimate fixture at 21H15.

Forgive my ignorance, who is Manu Vinupola?

Brother? Cousin? Nephew?

Cousin. Strangely for a Vunipola, he’s a back. Meant to be quite a talented fly half. Supposedly he’s a bit of maverick, and they’re working on improving his tactical game.

In the 2nd game V Leicester, the guest we have from the army, scored a hat trick, looked a very, very good sevens player.Played as you would expect a Pacific Islander to play, he was very quick and very, very strong.Joel Conlon looked good as well.

Elisi Vunipola was a very good (Tonga-capped) fly-half some years ago.
