Coaches Review

very good evening. Dan and Joe were the coaches in attendance was spoke very well about the new boys settling in (stretts seems like hes never been away). Players are coming back from injury either started or due to start back to full schedules which was great to hear.

SSA AGM

Pretty standard bits and pieces. change of chairman from Malcolm back to John with the 2 Alison's coming on board and Phil Mayo stepping down. Membership is at an all time high which lead to the increased profits for the year and the SSA will be looking at how to spend more money with the increased revenue each year.
Claire modeled a lovely new members only SSA Rugby Shirt which is being created in partnership with premium force. a very nice number which was well received by those in the room

Club Update

well this was the fun bit that fans have been waiting for all summer!!!!!
A guy for PTP (sorry forgot his name) sat in front of the room and started by apologising for the issues with ticketing and car parking. he was then grilled by fans on how this happened to which he apologised again and that things had been switched on too early in the background before things could be communicated. He also spoke about the reasons to do with the re-categorisation. He lightly touched on the West Stand and that it hasnt really moved too far on as the club need to basically work out their parking issues before they can submit a change to the traffic impact of a new stand and that the club will also be doing a review of how to cater for fans moved out the current west stand during the building (hopefully by talking to fans first)

hopefully this gives you a small insight into the evening

Will Skelton lightest he has ever been ('Below 140 kgs - well 139.999' DV) and is moving really well. Joel Kpoku 'doesn't fit through the door'.

Best senior academy skill sets they have ever had - but that's the start; getting in the squad is the easy bit then the players really have to work on how they can become better. Lots of support for them from the senior players who are very good - Faz and Alex mentioned in despatches here. Calum Clark loves that part; tried to do it at Saints but had his wrist slapped and was warned off - has found such a difference here.

I was 17 miles from Graybridge before I was caught by the school leopard

Just a couple of points from a good summary - PTP man was Tim Hunt - CEO - works directly to Lucy Wray.

SSA shirt is being done with the club not Premium Force this time.

Thanks for the update B/F.

The quoted reason for West Stand delay - traffic impact - seems completely lame to me. The total capacity at AzP after the redevelopment of the West stand is to increase from 10,000 to 10,500. Therefore it is more than reasonable to say the traffic impact of the additional 500 will be approaching zero. Don't buy that at all.

The existing West standers is an interesting conundrum although it looks like there will be plenty of empty seats in the East stand! At least they've got another 10 months now to get it sorted although I wouldn't be surprised if the delay is even longer. HH told me the nature of the works required it to start immediately after the season ends to minimise disruption so we've obviously missed that window for this year.

They did mention the other delay to the West Stand were the SA partners. They are a public company and needed shareholder approval for the investment which was slow in coming and a reason why Nigel bought them out.

Iíd be surprised if the issue isnít finance. If season ticket sales are going badly at the new prices so there is no progress in reducing the annual losses then itís going to be hard to raise the money for the new stand and training ground.
