Montpellier in for Maro????

More speculation from the Daily Mail. Cannot do the whole link.

Saracens are facing a battle fromFranceto keep hold of Maro Itoje after the World Cup.

The England lock is out of contract next year and his club have previously expressed concerns about staying within the salary cap, with Itoje recently tipped for a punchy million-pound deal.

He has told Saracens that he sees his long-term future with the champions, but Sportsmail has learnt that interest from wealthy Top 14 clubs is beginning to surface.

The article goes on to mention Montpellier and it's millions...

So Maro would give up his England career, where he has every prospect of being one of the most successful internationals of his generation, with the rewards that go with that, in order to take a few short-term paydays?

With the salary cap frozen keeping Maro will be the hardest of all our big names, and we have an awful lot of very good locks.

The reason for season ticket reclassification was to generate funds for signing said internationals. Maku & Billy all done, next up Maro.

Also this is the Daily Mail

I know part of the excuse for the price hike was to pay for our excellent squad, but if we're already paying up to the salary cap I don't see how any more income makes a difference to who we can afford to keep/not keep, but simply allows us to maintain the current wage bill without losing so much per annum.

He was absolutely awesome today, surely had to be man of the match. Perhaps we should give him all the money and he could win matches on his own!

I would be very surprised to see Maro leave at this stage of his career, he's one of the best English locks currently, and will not give up his international career not yet... Surely?!
