Looking forward to our 23 making his debut. Heard he's a great talent but a bit of an unknown quantity

Well at least we got a game out of Titi and Sione before they head off for their international matches.

I notice we are not risking many first team non-internationals who would have been available; Barritt, Tompkins, Barrington, Strettle, Lewington, Earl, Goode for example. Good move.

As I mentioned in a previous thread I'm not surprised to see Whiteley get the nod over Taylor. He also captains the side so congratulations to him.

A pretty decent team with a good pack to keep us in there.

From the Fish..........

"Tom Whiteley will captain Saracens in their Premiership Rugby Cup opener against Leicester Tigers at Allianz Park.
The 22-year-old forms a half-back partnership with Max Malins who makes his first start of the season following an ankle injury.

Marcelo Bosch adds experience to the backline at 13 while there are plenty of senior heads to complement the young players in the pack.

Schalk Burger, Dom Day and Calum Clark all feature with Joel Kpoku making his first team debut.

Titi Lamositele and Sione Vailanu will join up with USA and Tonga respectively following the match."

Does anyone think the disciplinary appeal tonight might have something to do with our 23rd player?

A very interesting team and credit to Leicester too for fielding a proper Cup team rather than staking it with players from their 23.

Think you may well be right derbyshire fan.

Are the Reffell’s on either side related?

I've just asked that on the Tigers board.

Didn’t AN Other play for the Storm the other week? He was pretty anonymous by all accounts...

Depending on the outcome of tonight's appeal, Loz would have to play tomorrow if he was to be eligible to play for England next week so I guess you're bang on the money.

Looking forward to seeing how our respective youngsters and rusty older one's get on.

Presumably we 'want' Lozowski banned for tomorrow's game. Because if he is then he can play the weekend after.

But given both the original citings are now back in the air, he could be banned for any number of weeks, either including or excluding tomorrow! It's a complete joke. Especially that EPRC have decided to appeal a tackle that the tackled player has said was fine!

Yes Superman I didn't word that very well! We want him to 'play' as in be theoretically named in the squad but then banned because of the suspension thus clearing him for England next week. So, expect none of this to happen and a further ban extension for appealing!

Our 23 is much travelled, has played for numerous teams, but he's extremely versatile, having featured in a wide variety of positions!

Reuben Bird-Tulloch takes up the number 23 shirt in the Sarries squad."

Wuss and Sale, the other two teams in our group played last night. Wuss got off to a perfect start with a thumping 35-3 TBP win at home. They are of course not too troubled by call ups etc.

Interesting line ups. Sarries have most of their experience in the forwards (with the obvious exception of Bosch); Tigers in the backs (with a pretty strong bench). Could be a rather open game - I hope!
