Get a grip Eddie

BBC rugby site says Lawes is in doubt for England because of a back spasm set off by a hotel bed in Portugal that was too short. Surely the England management know that locks are all above average height? Wouldn't have happened under Clive's watch.

Clive didn't have the complex belief that he was the tallest man in the squad. Eddie thinks that as his bed is long enough for himself, everyone else is OK as well. If he thought about such detail at all.

The injury / short bed actually happened before the Tigers game at HQ, nothing to do with England.

Never let the facts get in the way of people so willing to make themselves look stupid.

Do rugby teams only stay at hotels with beds long enough to cater for 6 foot 8 inch tall players? Iíve never actually seen a long bed on a hotel!
Slightly side issue, saw poor Nick Isiekwe struggling out of the ground on crutches and a protective boot, canít see him back any time soon unfortunately

A suggestion as I realise locks aren't the brightest bunch, take the mattress off the bed and lay it on the floor next time ...

Re Lawes he has had a problem since the Leicester game. A fair point could be made about whether he should have gone on the camp at all whilst he sorted his back but Jones behaviour with rushing back Kruis, Billy, Hughes, etc probably answers that one.

Beds are a standard length, aren't they - 6' 3" or 6' 6" depending on the width? If it's a divan he can hang his legs off the end. I can't believe they put grown men in single beds with a foot board.(Sm111)

Tbf Jones has been talking about building depth to three places for a while now. Silly of us not to realise he was talking about bunk-beds ...

As the story seems to read, Lawes first suffered the spasms on Saints duty, but has aggravated the problem by trying to manage another short bed during this camp. It doesn't make any of the people responsible for managing travel for both teams look competent.

Youíve read it wrong Innings. There is no short bed in Portugal angle. It says he has returned from Portugal for specialist treatment and is returning this coming week following the initial injury (in a short bed) on 6 October.
