He is fallible and will have a poor game for sure but he is pretty used to playing behind a pack that aren't that dominant..

Good point - he was completely hopeless when Gloucester came to AP back in September, as he was when Wasps came last season. He's decent enough when given an 'armchair ride' but becomes a passenger/liability when the going gets tough (interception last week at Sandy Park). Ackerman will find out eventually and 'get rid' just like Young, Jones and Diamond have done before.

Don't sign mercenaries for a single season

We did learn this one the hard way, Tony, by doing it about a dozen years in a row up until 2009!

I spoke through clenched teeth, Mike!

You can pick on those games and I'd say that Saracens and Chiefs pummel the whole team so not really down to one man.
I dont see any other 10 doing well in that scenario.
However, weigh that against what he can do...like the kick through which saved Jones. Starved of the ball by England in poor conditions and he still can pull off moves that no other 10 can do.

Serious question, do you actually believe that or is it just plumping Ciprianis pillows?
He put a great kick through under pressure which was just caught by the fastest player on pitch at a time England were winning and it resulted in a points difference that made no difference to the win. So great bit of rugby for sure. Saved Jones? not even close.

Concur with you completely SarrieSaint...his kick at Newlands was a very fortunate/speculative dink that happened to work out because it was chased by our quickest player. In my opinion Jones has discarded him for a few reasons 1. he's a disruptive d@@khead 2. his defence is nowhere near international standard 3. Faz is an infinitely better all-round option. Cipriani would be fine against tier 2 nations when everything is on the frontfoot (as would Ford, Burns, Smith etc)
However, as proven so often, when under the cosh and needing to manage games on 40% - 45% possession (as we'd need to do to beat Ireland, New Zealand) he's evidently unable to cope.
Jones has got it spot-on.

And if it did save Jones then that's one more reason to be anti him!

(Tongue in cheek of course).

Still remain to be convinced by Smith behind any sort of pack, as evidenced by his moment of madness at the end of Friday's game.

So Dai Young is addressing the Wasps players after the match and says

"how long am I going to have to see those 'no look' passes go wrong, Daly"

and Elliot says

"that's impossible Boss we only play once a week" (Sm22)

With apologies....

That is truly awful. Indeed, week.
