S'up Women v Brizzle

Saracens Women side to face Bristol Bears Women at Allianz Park on Saturday 26 January (15H45KO):

FORWARDS (1-8): Bryony Cleall, May Campbell, Jeanie Layola, Ellie Gatlin, Rosie Galligan, Chrissy Siczowa, Lauren Newman, Kay Searcy

BACKS (9-15): Georgie Gulliver, Lauren Cattell, Lotte Clapp, Hannah Casey, Sydney Gregson, Georgie Lingham, Nina Vistisen

REPLACEMENTS: Jodie Rettie, Hannah Duffy, Kat Robinson, Sarah Bebbington, Eloise Hayward, Cara Wardle, Chantelle Meill

In what is the last Tyrrells Premier 15s game before a two-month break for the Six Nations, head coach Alex Austerberry has had to make a raft of changes to the side which beat Gloucester-Hartpury last weekend.

Hannah Botterman, Poppy Cleall, Zoe Harrison, Vicky Fleetwood, Sarah McKenna, Marlie Packer and Elle Perry are all unavailable, giving several up and coming players the chance to shine against sixth-placed Bristol, who have won their last two league games.

In the forwards, Bryony Cleall moves from number eight to loosehead prop, Jeannie Layola starts at tighthead prop in place of Hannah Duffy, Chrissy Siczowa comes in at flanker and Kay Searcy switches to number eight.

Among the backs, Nina Vistisen starts at full-back, Georgie Lingham returns to the side on the right wing, Sydney Gregson moves to outside centre and Lauren Cattell comes in at fly-half. Georgie Gulliver has won back her place at scrum-half after starting on the bench last week.

Not a match to remember. Lots of handling errors on both sides, but the main problem was our discipline. I dread to think how many penalties we gave away, and it nearly cost us : we were 17 - 0 up with 10 minutes to go when Briony Cleall offended in the red zone and was yellow carded, after which Brizz scored twice. Cleall came back for the last line out of the match, which she disrupted to bring about the end of the match.

Fortunately Quins also had a narrow win, so we go into the international break with a 7 point lead and two matches to go.
