of Tigers and Italy

Could it be bad news then good news for us?

Tigers - are they likely to get Genge, Cole and Ford back from Jones (missing Youngs, Tuilagi and May) and Holmes back from Gatland? We're likely to be missing all 6 of our England starters, usually don't claim back Williams/Maitland, and probably won't have Lamositele though the USA have a blank week and we may have done a deal similar to Diamond (first 2 weeks only).

Italy - I hope England copy Wales and test the World Cup squad depth against them, which should mean resting all 6 of our players, especially if we win in Cardiff. Perhaps something like:
Brown, Ashton, Joseph, Teo, Cockanasiga, Ford, Robson;
Moon, Hartley, Cole; Launchbury, Stooke; Shields, Robshaw, Hughes;
Cowan-Dickie, Genge, Williams, Isiekwe, ?; Care, Farrell/Cipriani, Watson.
Though I suspect Jones will want a stronger bench - at least!

If I were Jones, then I would want to continue to put down a marker with a strong squad vs Italy. Maybe 5/6 changes but not wholesale. Continue to play the same midfield 10/12/13 ahead of the RWC. Perhaps rotate in Cokanasiga, Robson, Genge, Williams & Shields.

I believe it might have been said before, but there is something special happening at Saracens, and I want to be part of it. - Nils Mordt

I would swap out any players close to indispensable, both Vunipolae, Owen, Daly, May on current form, for at least 40min (so maybe not all at once) to see how we'd do should they be injured at the World Cup

For goodness sake give Robson a decent run out. We know all we need to know about Youngs.

A lot depends on the Wales match. If England get a result there then as soon as EJ gets a sniff of a Grand Slam he won't be making too many changes. What we might see is a rotated starting XV and the mother of all benches!

Tigers can only expect Cole to be possibly returned, and that will depend on any possible injuries.

Cole returned along with Holmes & Kerr available, whether we select is another question
