Sarries at home at Franklins Gardens?
16 March, 2019 18:25
Can anyone remember what year we played Bath at Franklin Gardens?

I can remember the game, Glenn Jackson arrived from NZ during the week before and was bought on from the bench for his debut. As was quite normal in those days, we lost.I think we had to play the game at Franklin's Gardens because it was a penalty by the RFU for some reason. I reckon (Probably wrongly) it would have been about 2004.

It was 2005, and as mentioned the Glenda’s debut off the bench. We had to play there as Watford were at home. Coincidentally the game the following weekend was against Quins, 4 tries conceded in the first quarter was too much for Nigel and he left the ground (just read this in his book!)

Just found it.It was on November 6 2004, Sarries lost 30-37, Glenda scored a try on debut.Cant find out why they played at Franklin's Gardens, but I'm sure it was some kind of RFU punishment.Whatever the reason, it was a sucess, huge crowd of 3,595.

I think Watford were at home on Sunday and we couldn't play for 48hrs before their game.
