WT, it was Healy's starting 10 contenders. He said Cipriani was about 40th on his list. Cipriani has proved very little in Aus, he still can't tackle very well and he lacks consistency.

I'd also argue that Heathcote is now Bath's first choice, I think he's been considerably better than Donald.

I for one listen to very little that comes out of Healys Gob
But without willy waving Tom has been talked about long before his first team games by a few of us that has watched him.He might get there through injuries but get there he will.

If he's talking starting 10s, then presumably he considered neither Flood nor Ford, nor Lamb, nor indeed Farrell.
As for TH, I'm not convinced Bath agree that he's ahead of Donald.; though I suspect he might be getting tried at 12 if Beaver was fit (and therefore out of contention for Healey's list).

Cip.s being 40th? so Healey would chose a FH from what? the SW league 1 ahead of him? I'll class that as Hyperbole (aka lying). Equally, I suspect he was lying when only considering starting FHs (unless he means a FH who's started at least 1 club match this season, which would only rule out Farrell)

His list of "England Fly-Half Contenders" went as follows;
1. Owen Farrell
2. Charlie Hodgson
3. Toby Flood
4. Freddie Burns
5. Tom Heathcote
6. George Ford
7. Ryan Lamb
8. Stephen Myler

40. Danny Cipriani was a Healy tongue-in-cheek comment.

Judging by what Brad has been saying, Donald is going to have to work very hard to get the 10 jersey back, and I think he means that.

Given the alleged attitude of Beaver to being here (and I bluddy hope it's not true) then Tommy is first choice, a jersey should be earns at Bath, not gifted. Ever

Tom is the incumbent, and should continue to start. After so much injury, the time honoured method of being given 20-30 minutes at the end of the game for Donld to demonstrate fitness and form would seem in order.

But if asked to write own our best XV, I would still have Donald.

The suggestion that Tom might move to 12 to replace the out of sorts Olly has merit.

Indeed. Tom presents a much better presence in the 10 and 12 channels. To let him warm the bench whilst certain players underachieve would be criminal.

I like TH's running style and I think him and Beaver coould make a competant 10/12 axis which could be much better than the Beaver/TH with Barkley system being executed ATM.

I think that investing time in TH will pay dividends... he certainly has the potential to be a very solid FH for us for the next 10 years as well as his international potential.

As for players is there any indication that academy players like JJ Kilmartin, Skuse and Lane will get a run out now the season is a write off. From what I've seen of them they all have potential to go far and now the season is dead surely they should get a runout to prove their worth,

We are lucky at the moment to have 4 young men who could be battling for that 10 jersey for the next 10 years.

Everything I have posted here is my opinion, it in no way reflects actual fact, except when it actually does, although that will not be often.

Please do not take offence if I call your favourite player rubbish or say he plays out of position.

I am entitled to my opinion and you are entitled to yours. Mine is most likely to be right though.

I also think cricket is rubbish! This is fact.

I'd be confident that quite a few of those would get into the NZ training camp, they have a genuine lack of depth at 10 with Evans and McAlister playing in the NH. Cruden and Slade don't look incredibly special, Slade is now out for 6 months plus as well.

SA don't have a great deal beyond Morne Steyn, and then Australia also don't have much at 10 beyond Cooper. O'Connor and Barnes can play at 10 but they're not out and out 10s.

It's a pretty pointless exercise anyway though. Apart from Bod, who actually cares!?

With O'Connor I feel he will play 10 once Cips goes to Sale. He was very effective there when playing for the Force. With regards to SA I feel Lambie will be a massive player for them and will be pushing Steyn very hard soon. We should care about teh Southern Hemisphere marshie for they are the benchmark. Even Probyn said as much in his TRP piece this week. Of course all very much IMVHO (Sm100)

What I was thinking, fantastic young talent and TBH looks better than Lambie.

Marshie - SA only have M steyn? (Lambie, Jantjies, Bosman, F Steyn, Grant and Ebersohn X2...)

I don't think saying that reportedly Donald is one of the best paid players at the club is evaporating the creditability of the site. I used the word reportedly so it clearly isn't being presented as factual and rumours about how much a Bath player is being paid seems perfectly reasonable material for a Bath rugby discussion board. It's not like it's gossip about his sexual preferences.
