Claassens must not leave. He has been the heartbeat of the side since he arrived. When our back row and forwards do the job of clearing out as they should (as they did yesterday) then he can keep the pace to our game. When he has an experienced 10 outside him he can just think about his own game. With Heathcote outside him, he has to think a bit more about game management, due to Heathcote's inexperience - this is not a slight to Heathcote, it just comes with the territory of being a 19 year old fly half in the Premiership.

Claassens' kicking is very good for the most part, admittedly he did kick badly yesterday on a couple of occasions. But he is a very good leader and he's a very popular member of the squad. Irish can @#$%& off. So can Cowan.

Team struggles - scrum half not seen at his best. Team thrives, scrum half thrives: no surprise there.

I think we have been a bit quick to get on Classens' back.

he did well yesterday, 2 poor kicks apart.

After having a good chat with Matt (Banahan) yesterday in the Illustrious suite!! he says he is busy training with weights etc and expects to be back playing soon. A very nasty tear of a muscle near his waist (can't remember the name!) meant he had to have an injection of blood into the torn one!! OUCH!!!

That'd be iliacus, or psoas muscles - which makes far more sense than the "quadricep" from the press release.
Not sure what the injection of blood is trying to achieve

Looking into it a bit more, maybe it is actually a tendon that he had torn because this is where they espeically use a ABI or Autologous Blood Injection which is where the patient's blood is injected into an area of the body for the purposes of healing?! anyway Banners will be back soon so that has to be good!!

"for the purposes of healing" - well I never; I'd assumed they were doing it for giggles.
Sorry, couldn't resist that.
Yeah, doing that for a tendon injury would make more sense as tendons have such poor blood supply of their own. I've heard of it for tendons, but am not familiar with the process.

Called back to Bath for this weekends game. Absolutely gutted to not be playing in the #help4heroes game.. Great opportunity for me at Bath

Interesting. I wonder if someone has been injured. The last bit makes me worry it might be a long term injury? Surely one game wouldn't be considered a great opportunity given that he's played a few time before?

Is Chris Cook so far ahead of Keyte that he would be called back to sit on the bench and prevent him playing at Twickenham in a game that would be so good for his confidence/ambition? But then surely Claassens and MMM haven't both been injured in training?

Cheers - updated OP for Biggsy; won't include the other 2, as I prefer not to do those that sound like minor knocks keeping someone out for 1-2 matches.

Should also note that it seems that Josh Ovens is available for us, despite being on a season-long loan to Bristol (as opposed to dual registered). I'm keeping his status as on loan until I hear something official though, if he gets a game, I suspect we'll be told what's going on, if it's temporary or permanent etc

Wonder if Lamont would fancy coming to us as injury cover for Biggs. Guess he needs to at least be training and could pave the way to a full time contract if he does well.

Cheers - I'll assume a break and 6 weeks until we hear otherwise (may well be surgical, in which case 6 weeks might be optimistic - I wouldn't be even slightly surprised if it were surgical, if it's the same arm he's been having problems with for so long)

First point is a lovely one, it will be good to see Nick continue at Bath.

The second one really isn't all that good. If Ireland were to have an injury crisis or, as is more likely Attwood gets called up this long running arm problem of Hoops' could leave us with 1 proper lock and spencer from the academy....

Can't remember his arm being out of a 'cast'. I know it's different for matchdays, but let's face it strapping has bee pretty severe
We need to let our players heal properly. But just goes to show how shallow we are in the locks

My thoughts exactly morris. First hookers and now locks - shouldn't somebody be planning ahead for this kind of eventuality?

Expecting them to plan for the possibility of all 3 senior hookers being injured is a bit much but having only 3 experienced locks was always going to be a problem.

And to think over the last season we let go Short, Nacho and Danny. Two of whom wanted to continue playing professional rugby, personally I think not keeping Nacho on wasn't the best idea.

B----- Shambles if you ask me! We have known since the end of last season when Nacho and Danny were on their bikes followed by Short and Hodson not recovering, that we were going to be stretched at Lock. One major injury and we are in the S---! I personally think caldwell is our player of the season because without him we have NO SCRUM and NO grunt or agression!!!

What is going on Bruce and I have deliberately gone over the heads of the coaches who seem oblvious to all events???

DBF - I think what Pux meant was that as soon as Mears went down with an injury, we should have acted then. As Dixie was already injured. We waited until Batty went down before we acted!
