They should fight for their places and also become less injury prone.
How very dare they! injuries? in a contact sport? should be banned for life for that sort of behaviour

I know, call me a cynic, but I tend to see a correlation between the number of conditioning coaches/physios with a team, and the number of players signed off as unavailable.

You mean when there are more injuries, there are more people whose job it is to help people recover from injuries?

Only recently five players selected to play on the Saturday all had to drop out due to injuries incurred on the Thursday. One or two of them serious enough to keep them out for several weeks

To an extent, Bod has a point.

Injuries are happening more and more and it's because the players are getting bigger and the coaching intensity and workload is getting bigger.

This last point will be rughly proportional to the number of strength etc. coaches.

Clearly though if we are losing players for the game on the Thursday before the coaches have to do something to stop this. Lowering the intensity of training isn't going to damage our hopes of winning drastically. In fact it doesn't seem to have had much of an effect...
