Wow - can't say how much that has cheered me up after Saturday's dross.

There is some fight and passion in this club after all!

Stunning fightback at the end - dodgy missed penalty and a key tackle let Wuss take the lead, but what a spell of pressure at the death...now I have stopped screaming at the Ref on my computer screen i can relax and look forward to the Kane Train advising the first teamers how to play with the ball in hand, rather than the stratosphere....

i would say that you can't say they showed more skill than the 1st team, they are playing against worse players and there are larger gaps - anyway credit to the team.

The negativity should be reaching a close everyone, we have got promising signs, ATM gloucester are our nemesis as well, brilliant playmaking from heathcote to set up woodburns break.

i wasn't implying that, i was just saying how as a game, a united game will be slower and less physical - just the way it is, not saying they played badly because they played well but the statement that they showed more skill than the 1st team is wrong and can't be arrived at correctly.

I'm off down to Cornwall tomorrow and thought, after all he negative posts (and Thatchers at 2.50 a pint) I should stop over and see it for myself. What a performance! The forwards played with real passion and grit; stuck up for one another in the post-breakdown handbags. The backs were stiletto-like in their running angles. A proper BBW performance. SIM should show the video of this game to ALL squad players alongside some of the negative posts on ERE. Winning breeds winners! You could see tonight why the likes of Woodburn and Heathcote have performed so strongly in the first team. The Grewcock influence??? Well done Bath United. It was well worth the trip.

Dear SIM, I hope you get told how well the boys played tonight.
JJ Kilmartin is the next Bendy if that was him going down the wing on a number of ocassions (sp?) Fantastic team spirit and it really meant something to them to win tonight. I wanted to leave early I was so cold but couldn't tear myself away! Haven't felt like this after a Bath match for ages.

I really enjoyed that. Well done lads.

As someone who's played in a losing team, they struck me as a bunch of guys who are fed up with losing and have had enough of it. Great commitment!

It's been a long old slog for the United team this season, but it's pretty much been the same quorum of players. I've felt that they've got better each time and that Wuss team was - Quins A aside - perhaps the most experienced side they've faced.

Not the best rugby, but both teams showed willingness to stretch the play. Bath looked better when they kept it tight for a few phases. MMM added more pace to attack when he came on, and Buckle and Baldwin were a nuisance at the breakdown. There was so much shouting and communication amongst the players and in my mind that is so lacking in the 1st XV. How about those Uni players?!!

The ref let a lot go (offsides, coming in at the side and crooked line outs), but he got the main events right.

I gave them a little more chance then some, but didn't expect such a gritty determination to win. Excellent work Bath.

Great play boys. Good to see the young forwards doing well - Buckle looks back to fitness and Baldwin did well stepping into Skuse's huge shoes - bothered the wuss players, good in lineout and a try. JJ looked good too. So much promise for JP and DG for next year. An honour to be there to support you tonight guys. Shame about the small crowd.

That was the best win by a United in recent times and when I say recent mean in the last 10 years,I have watched most Utd games in that time, even traveling away to places like Leeds and Sale watch them
JJ Martin was quick and Worcester had no answer for him,KPN was up against a Welsh International was immense,I think I counted three turn overs by him at the break downs.
MMM showed why he is a head of Cookie,Lane also showed well and every Uni boy stood up.

Endorse everything said, apart from cheeky W who must be sitting in a very strange spot (maybe facing into the sun too much) to watch the 1st team if he thinks United tonight did not put on a much better show all together. It wasn't just their basic skills, it was the way they played as a team with commitment and support and very little headless/brainless chicken kicking. Glad I made the effort -loads of us did btw.
Blimey can't that chap on the wing shift though eh?
Wuzz may have thought they could bully their way through but it didn't work.

Much praise to JP and DG, and others who give advice.

Actually, some of their basic skills were patently lacking tonight. The Wuss tries (if remembered correctly) were very soft, but we never gave up and kept coming back at them. A lesson indeed for the 1st XV. Didn't see any of them in the terraces tonight. Anyone see them anywhere else, or were they "on duty" somewhere else?

As I have said and keep on saying - I have decided I shall be as consistent on this as Ex-Bod is on another subject - let's give the youngsters a chance to develop and give them a go.

Of course they are going to be out of their depth, initially - but let's not forget that is how you learn to swim (what's swimming got to do with rugby - shurely shome mishtake , ED)

Just seen that MMM benched for this match - must have been a mis-diagnosis, either that or a miracle to come back about 3 months early.

Given that we've brought in Fury, we won't be able to use him for the first until his 12 weeks are up anyway; unless they've classed Fury as an opportunist signing, rather than an injury replacement - which depends on how close to the cap we've been this season

What made the game so memorable to me last night was how the boys dug deep against a starting line up that had more than

Really enjoyed it and pleased for each one of them.
Some great team spirit, they were outstanding in the first half
A core of Uni lads, who have a winning mentality and I really think that contributed.
700 first team games combined versus 16 is staggering ( just need to check how many Tosh Masson played at Quins )
I will be watching the uni on Wednesday versus Bristol
Keep up the good work boys
