4 - 6 weeks this time - fractured thumb.
on bbc. Not his season at all - the captain's curse.

Caldwell = hero of the season it is then. Gutting for Hoops

He's had a tough season, both on the pitch and on here, but this is very unfortunate for him; coming after a strong showing at the weekend too.

Thumbs are notoriously pesky to heal, hopefully all goes well with it.

Umm
That's bad
We could be down to one lock if the replays of Saturday go against us.
And Taylor who played his heart out, was injured also.

What a shame for the guy,he played really well on Saturday.he will be missed,it been a retched season for him, speedy recovery please Hoops.

Damn no luck for Hooper at all.

Dear o dear!
Very sorry for Hooper - he's had a dreadful period for injuries. Even sorrier for us - looks as if the heroes of Monday night might get a call sooner rather than later if it continues with them 'dropping like flies'.

If last week we were 23 from 24, where are we now?

Not sure if that was true.Billy moss at London welsh.Lills at Brizzel,Roberts at Plymouth,Tyas at Mosley.all could be called back plus other academy players.

Fearns has been doing the pre-match warm ups for a few weeks, rumours of Moody re-appearing soonish. MMM played 40 last night. KPN played 80, Lane and JJ Kilmartin both looked good enough to bench as back 3 cover.

Not all positions have depth, but not quite last man standing.

Danny might have to come back and that's no joke

And I bet he'd still be good.

Re: Hooper out - again
annie blackthorn 21 February, 2012 21:32
He'd just have to be named as on the bench, sit there and that would be enough.

Wonder if he would want to, as he seems to be enjoying his new role as coach/elder statesman/icon!

He is a God Annie. But even a diety is capable of putting the fear of god into the opposition. Bench him saturday and don't feed him for a week! Watch the juices rise and he will be champing to come on at half time.........

Naming Louw as captain last weekend was, IMHO, Bath's way of saying "thanks but no thanks" to Hooper and letting him know that he is no longer in the Starting XV when DA and RC are fit.

At last, SIM showing a bit of humility and admitting a mistake. I kind of hope he does the same when Moody returns and keeps him on the bench with Fearns, Louw and Taylor forming the back row.

Why are we so prone to injuries all round?
Is it caused by the training regime or are we just unlucky?

I have no real idea how other teams are on the injury front - are we worse than most (as it appears) or is this a general malaise? Can someone please enlighten?

Move Banahan to lock if required - would help solve the worries about the centre partnership as voiced on another thread!!(Sm159)

Beer Belly's new adoptee for the 2012/13 season.

Welcome to The Rec - officially!

I think Banahan should return to lock as well.

I think they are over conditioned. Bath has too many conditioning coaches, but this does seem pretty common in the Premiership.

Biggest example of this was Catt at Irish. A few tough years here, and then suddenly a change of club and he played 70% of matches!

Or could it have been a pragmatic choice, given his lack of match fitness he was less likely to last the full 80 than Louw was?
