Whats you honest assessment on this upcoming game..Bath at home, wasps out on their feet with the team picking itself, got to fancy that one?

Re: Wasps Game
Sam Y 17 April, 2012 12:14
Yes we should win this one and it will be very interesting what side is selected. I would like to think a few that played last night have played their way into contention for Saturday, but I will not hold my breath!!

Re: Wasps Game
Miles Offside 17 April, 2012 12:33
With Bath having nothing to play for but pride, and Wasps desperate to avoid relegation hinging on their last game with Falcons, this could be a banana skin if the boys' heads aren't in the right place.

I'd like to see Donald, Williams, Cuthbert and Eastmond feature, because they've all got something to prove.

Re: Wasps Game

So would I Miles Offside, but they probably won't!!

Re: Wasps Game
stuckinlondon 17 April, 2012 12:42
Why not play comedy side!

Ding dong at 10
Flats at 9
Banners ar second row-ok not so comic!
Eastmond at 8
Biggs 2nd row!

Could make for entertaining game

Re: Wasps Game
Bod 17 April, 2012 12:45
Eastmond might be useful for the final quarter?
How will SIM approach this match that could send his old "glory" team down (I reckon Falcons will stuff them on the final day)

10 Worcester Warriors 20 7 1 12 36
11 London Wasps 20 6 0 14 31
12 Newcastle Falcons 20 5 2 13 27

While none but the insanely optimistic would think it very likely, we're not quite in the the "nothing to play for" stage yet. If Glaws beat Sale, and we put 4 tries on Wasps we'll go in to the final weekend as:

6. Glaws 47pts
7. Bath 45pts
8. Sale 45pts

So 6th would be a - highly unlikely - possibility if we, erm, beat Leicester away.

For all it's a long shot, stranger things have happened. We shouldn't give up until the fat prop sings.

Beat Leicester... (Sm22)

Re: Wasps Game
Hymenoptera 17 April, 2012 13:38
If Falcons get nothing from Sarries it would take a proper Xmas turkey style stuffing to grab the win on the final day...that being said Sarries on a wet Friday, getting their uniforms dirty...Falcons have more than a chance.

I fancy Bath personally...

Re: Wasps Game
Bri 17 April, 2012 13:47
We owe it to other teams to put out our strongest side.part of me would like to see Belly starting and KPN bench,Bendy and Eastmond bench, things like that but can't see it happening.

Re: Wasps Game
Sam Y 17 April, 2012 13:55
Bri, they owe it to the fans to put on a performance more than any other team IMHO. But as I have said before, it will be the same side as against Sale so expect the same result!!!

I think Falcons will feel quite confident after tucking up Glaws at CG, plus there is a full on marketing push locally to fill the ground come hell or high water.

If Newcastle turn over Sarries then Leicester's home QF will be sorted, so who knows what team they'll put out. And we have beaten them already this season.

But I won't be placing any bets...

(We can still lose to Leicester and come 6th if Sale and Glaws draw. It's that "if...if...if" time of year!)

I do hope they will all be able to raise their game and play as a unit and not as a group who when they've run out, got their bearings and the Ref blows the whistle, leave their rugby nouse with what few brains they possess in the changing room for the next 40 minutes.

Re: Wasps Game
Hooker Stewart - Wendover Wasp 18 April, 2012 07:08
I think this is right.....if the Falcons lose on Fri without a LBP & Wasps lose on Sat without a LBP, Falcons'll need to beat Wasps by 23 pts in R22

Of course a win against Barf and we're safe to terrorise you next season

Ding dong, bring it on ;-)

Re: Wasps Game
Which Tyler 18 April, 2012 07:49
Surely, if you both take nothing away this weekend, then Newcastle would need a 5 pointer without giving you a LBP in R22; so need to win by 8+ (whilst scoring 4 tries)

Re: Wasps Game
Boy 18 April, 2012 13:12
Has anyone seen Heathcote play at 12 before? Just wondering whether it might be worth trying out with Donald at 10 (or vice-versa).

Banners looked to me on Friday to be someone who's just thoroughly exhausted, and with the likes of Carraro, Williams and Woodburn all fit I wouldn't mind at all if the club let him start his summer a couple of weeks early.

Re: Wasps Game
Sam Y 18 April, 2012 13:21
Spudley, IMHO Donald cannot tackle very well at 10 so 12 would be a problem for him I think? Heathcote took a huge hit at Sale on Friday that put him off his game and all the kicking was left to Barkley, so we need to manage him properly as he has done his ACL 2 maybe 3 times and he is not 20 yet!!

Re: Wasps Game
Sam Y 19 April, 2012 13:05
According to Brad in the Chronicle, Donald to start against Wasps then to redeem his season!!
