Schmidt's boys are giving it a fair go in the first 15, yet CA look very dangerous.
Intriguing stuff!

Any one going to the final?

We have been a long way off that standard in the HC for years, and to be honest having watched the two Amlin semi finals, far off that standard too.
For me success in Europe is just a far away ambition which will take us years to realise.

We've been whizzing backwards in reverse Bri. You can't criticise something that is not striven for.

Europe is a cup competition, so success can come quickly if Lady Luck wishes.

Perhaps by not drawing us in a pool with three of the top 10 sides in Europe, including the #1 team, next time.

Obviously not next year though.

What's up with you Sanders? Has your recently creosoted fence blown down or has the cat shat in your slippers or something? Or is it just the sad reflections on a wonderful Rugby spectacle in Bordeaux where Bath were once able to gloriously compete?

Thought Wayne gave Leinster too much leeway - how Darcy wasn't binned, or Cullen for that matter, and how many pens did Wayne give to the Leinster scrum that was being demolished for the first 60 mins?

Excellent match in a brilliant atmosphere though.
What would the S15 give to be able to play in front of fans like those today, eh Bod?

I'll PM you there Bodders. Not everybody lives where you can get Sky coverage. I had yer man round to fix a dish and he said he could try a 30' pole on the chimney, but we still wouldn't get a signal.

Yep thats right Bod, they rest players during their league season allowing them to focus 100% on the HC ,in England we can't do that.

With the structure in Ireland and the money in France it's going to be very difficult for English sides to win the HK (aside from a select few teams)

Any ideas how much winning the HC is worth to a club? Versus winning the AP for example?
Which is the most cost effective objective anyone?

I'm not sure there's a lot in either - I'm sure I remember reading ages ago that the AP clubs made some efforts to equalise the revenues through sharing, so it's only really the gate revenues.

I guess winning the HK brings more subtle rewards than simply money. Much easier to attract top quality players to a proven winning team at the highest level than say a mid table PL team.
