Why do the scoring team take the restart?

To hand possession back.

Fair enough, Bod, but why do we do it differently in union? Surely a good kick, with the speedsters chasing, makes it a 50/50 ball.

Could do indeed, however, given the space, if chaser misses the ball then a decent catcher will run straight in for a try (Fijians quite keen on that!)

Not a bad wee stadium either. Will be better tomorrow when the Glasgow Warriors supporters can attend and fill the stadium. Good move by the SRU to move the 7s from Murrayfield.

It'll be Warriors' home ground from next season too, won't it? Looks a big step up from Firhill.

It certainly will be!
I was worried at first when I heard, as I knew there was a VERY wide running track. But they have done an excellent job on those moveable stands.

I heard again last week that Edinburgh will be moving to Meadowbank Stadium in the East End at some point. That also has a wide running track. SRU must have shares in moveable stands
