Some observations

The trip home on the train gave a chance to think about the match.

1) Poor coaching decisions
Yes Bod, a criticism of SIM. Claasens had an absolute mare in the second half; slow ball, indecisive, getting charged down. Clearly some fuse had blown in his head and he was a rabbit in the headlights. We could all see it. So why on earth wasn't he pulled off? The guy has dripped blood for the BBW for more hours in the last 10 years than anyone but Olly, so I'm more than prepared to cut him a break, but he should have been substituted.

2) Tom Heathcote is still an Academy player
He did little specifically wrong today, but with Claas having a mare and the back 3 enjoying a game of tennis someone needed to take control and kick ass. That person needs to be the 10. Maybe with Bath's two most experienced backs on either side of him he can't readily boss them about. Maybe he just does have he big game experience to know what needs to be done. These things will come with time, but right now he's not there yet.

3) Attacking line outs in the last 2 mins
I don't expect us to score a try every time, but it would be nice if we could actually win the ball. Just once in a season even. Every hooker has screwed at least one up this year, so it's not an individual thing. There's something very wrong with our pressure line out.

You'll annoyingly get the hang of it Stu as you finally begin to realise quite how relentlessly clueless SIM-ball is, and out of respect for the heritage of the club he should be invited to clear his desk forthhwith. (BC2 must have been suffering from some kind of dellusional brain-f4rt when he appointed him in the first place)
IMHO
