I was a little shocked to read the story below yesterday regarding Sale sacking Tom Arscott.

I understand the notion that you are bound to your team and passing on team info is a big no-go but at the same time sacking a player seems unfair? He, nor his brother who he supposedly told the info to, played that match and so how much useful info could he have passed on that would have caused Sale to lose that game?
He plays on the wing after all so I doubt he knows the lineout calls/set piece strategy!!

Is this just Diamond getting defensive as he has realised that despite chatting about bringing in big name players and how he's going to build this fantastic squad, he may not be able to do that from the Championship potentially??

Possibly Mr D realised Mr A is now surplus to requirements with his new ex League imports and needed to loosen up some funds. He was probably glad to find out about the family get together and made a case for sacking him rather than paying him off. All very sordid to me and not good for the game of rugby.

Even if one did disclose to another a certain tactic or more, I cannot see it having a huge detrimental effect on the outcome of a game which it obviously did not.
