No banners or JJ. Looks like Ford is super-sub.

Good to see Homer back. Strongest bench I have seen for us all season.

Can't say our back line fills me with confidence. However maybe a change up is just what we need!

Completely unexpected line up!

Time to get behind Rhys now, hope he goes well and earns another start against Sale next week.

Knight has looked better than Kane recently in the scrums, so happy to see him there.

Good to see Clark given another run as well.

Can only presume JJ has been rested, as not listed as unavailable like Banners. Would imagine JJ could be rested again at Sale, as he has a big summer of Rugby ahead of him.

Gloucester have gone full strength from the looks of their team.

No JJ, but not "unavailable for selection". That's a bit rum....

Wonder whether JJ is due an England related week off like Ford had to have.

I'd smirk somewhat if Priestland has an absolute stormer for 79 minutes and Ford only gets a token cameo at the end!

I reckon Ford will come on for his farewell appearance with 15m to go

Surprised Fruen is on the bench- are we to take it he is not going to be at Bath in the future? Same for Denton - I did not see his name in the unavailable list and he has not made the bench. Interesting selection glad to see Homer back and Knight & Stooke starting. Come on Bath!!!!

Don't believe we were forced to rest JJ, just a bit of rotation coming into play.

Seems sensible for a bit of rotation, surprised there is no Banners but Garvey back is massive. Maybe JJ's been dropped because of his imminent move to Worcester? (Sm100)

Not many of the squad kicking their heels this Sunday then. 23 in the match-day, 13 unavailable for selection (including 6 x front-row and 4 x wingers).

Nick Auterac,Tom Dunn, Henry Thomas
Max Lahiff, Michael van Vuuren, Jack Walker
Levi Douglas, Charlie Ewels
Rory Jennings, Matt Banahan, Harry Davies,Semesa Rokoduguni, Jeff Williams

Paul grant not on the 'unavailable' list either...or our club captain (BoBs fave) Guy Mercer or Zach. Looks like we have lots of spare back rows at the mo.

Not a mention of Ford being benched this is no time for squad rotation Bath are guzzling in the last chance saloon Sunday. Presumably Ford has been dropped due to his mediocre performances against Worcester and Stade. Surprised that D A doesn't get the starting spot. I suspect that after last weeks show in France Gloucester will more than fancy their chances

Are we safe for top 6? We'll pretty much know before ko on Sunday. So it could be a fairly relaxed day or it could be an absolute nail-biter.

After 20 games:

5 Bath 53
6 Saints 48
7 Quins 47
8 Glos 46

Quins vs Wasps (Friday)
Exe vs Saints (Saturday)

By ko Sunday it'll probably be:

5 Bath 53
6 Saints 49 (with 1 to play)
7 Quins 48 (with 1 to play)
8 Glos 46

So, it's very likely that a BP on Sunday will see us guaranteed top 6.

Looking at the full table, though, our 'Tries for' is absolutely shocking for a team with Ford, JJ, Watson, Roko in the backline. 2nd lowest in league on 43, and only 5 ahead of Bris.

Assumes Exe & wasps are 'fully committed' as they are already safe. Suppose Exe will be pushing for a home Semi though

I'm glad he has made changes. That shows strong management. I'm surprised, though, that JJ has been rested rather than AJ. I'm also surprised that Freuan wasn't selected ahead of Max Clark. However, they are no doubt calls based on fitness, rotation & team balance. At the end of the day it all comes down to how they play as a TEAM rather than individually, their mental approach & the energy levels throughout. Cautiously confident that this team can do better than some of those who failed against Worcester & Stade.

Also surprised that Brooker has been given the nod over Henry. I wouldn't be massively surprised if both Quins & Saints win. Stranger things have happened (Sm102)

Wasps can seal 1st place with a BP, so I guess they could just have a try-fest at Quins - that's a danger.

Exeter really, really need that home semi though.

Oh, bu$$er it. Can we just win please and have done with it.

On form and recent performances, there is only one winner here and, without Attwood, JJ and Roko, it is not Bath.

Glaws by at least 10.

This match is shaping up to be crucial so it's just as well that players
who have a real interest in Bath being in the Champions Cup next season have been selected. No guarantee of success but I wouldn't want to rely on those whose heart is not in it & who are focusing on pastures new.

Based on recent form, particularly the respective clubs' fortunes in France last weekend, you are absolutely right. We really need Lady Luck to smile on us to win this one.

Heavy rain is expected throughout the match which will no doubt have a bearing on the outcome. If it is a penalty fest I hope we don't have a bad day with Carly & whoever is nominated for kicking duties, hopefully Homer, needs to be on song.

p.s. I had an e-mail from the club with 'Teams Up' which was completely illegible due to the font sent out being about 4,000 so only a few bits of a few letters. Anyone else have this - not normal behaviour for my Inbox!

Good bench, but I hope we are not "chasing the game" by the time they come on. This is a home derby and the starting XV have to deliver in spades.

We need a real end of season boost or the good work done this season (and there has been some) will seem an illusion.
