With due respect, this is a rugby club and as in the past, a few beers can get out of hand. It appears it was reasonably tame and it appears no one outside of the club apart from a few parents were affected, and it was confined to the club's premises.

IMO I would much rather any sanctions came down on those underperforming players as judged by their efforts on the pitch. That is where the focus should be with underperformance being hit hard by a sanction, preferably monetary. The guys would then realise where their allegiances and responsibilities lie and act accordingly or face further punishment, and that over drinking in the season is one area where they can/ should desist.

Best to wait and see what facts emerge from the disciplinary before judging. The Chronicle report does suggests some irresponsible behaviour, but the alleged misdemeanours sound silly rather than malicious.

Rugby players drink beer and take clothes off shocker. If results are anything to go by cutting loose was just what they needed, if inappropriately timed and located...

Old Prostates RFC wish to offer sincere congratulations to Bath Rugby for upholding the most ancient customs and traditions of the game.

A reminder for the youth of today what a 'Zulu Warrior' was.

But did you 'want it' more BnG? Did you have co-leaders? One in charge of drinking the other nakedness?

Yeah ok but this is not some local Vets team - this is a professional club whose players were on their employer's workplace and allegedly not only undermining the reputation of the club but also failing in role-model behaviour for young people

If you want to behave like that, fine but behind closed doors - if some of those alleged antics were filmed on phone and go on internet the club and players involved will be in big trouble with RFU

Sorry lads but those 'good old days' have gone - if true then strong action needed

It doesn't sound great, it does sound like the club are taking appropriate action.

It seems like Bath manage to consistently make news for all the wrong reasons.

Hmmm, some high jinks are fine, whatever. The fact that it was while there was a skills clinic and there were kids who had paid to be at the Rec is the bad bit.

Rugby player get drunk shocker. Let's be honest it's not the worst thing Bath players have been associated!

However what these players have done is, abuse the trust of the coaches. Therefore deserve any fines, suspension they receive.

Two things annoy me about this.

1. The heckling - some reports say it was aimed at George Ford, either way it's poor form.

2. This is the one that really gets to me, no matter how minor the incident, it is our club yet again in the papers for the wrong reasons! Are we that different to other clubs? Or because rugby is the main sport in our city the we are under the microscope that much more?

Wow. I'd not heard of that one!

What with the incidents with the Chiefs in Nz, I think our's could have been a hell of a lot worse.

It annoys me all the same though.

Probably make THE Club even less inclined to allow out of hours activity by the squad at the Rec i.e. within Bath, thus isolating them out at FH even more. Stupid boys!

Edit - now featured in Daily Mail online sports page. Their headline insinuates in the only way the Mail can, that there were hordes of naked players on pitch - thanks lads!

The big question to be answered is why was George Ford holding a kicking clinic?

It was only on the 25th April and he didn't take any kicks on Sunday, so it may have worked wonders, we just don't know yet

He did have a season where his kicking was as good as anyone's, sandwiched between two poor seasons.

The difference between his kicking being world class and just very good, like most aspects of his game, seems to rely on him being in a good place. If tiggers can get him in that place, they won't look back, if they can't they'll still be ok.

I would argue that his kicking has not qualified as 'very good' this season.
