Is http://bathrugby-comms.co.uk Safe?
11 August, 2017 20:42
Does anyone else get security warnings when attempting to go to [bathrugby-comms.co.uk]?

I use McAfee LiveSafe, which warns that the site is a high risk as it 'exhibits one or more risky behaviors'...

If I run the domain only....ie. I don't put that url in my browser I get a 404 error meaning the site isn't avaiable or not active.

I would NOT go there. You can type the url into this website to check if its OK. [www.scamadviser.com]

So my message is stay away, something not right!

If you are a regular user keep an eye on it as often sites things can get sorted quickly if it is a reputable site.

Gloucesterwatcher, I know that's publically available data, but I've removed the address, bit too much info.

The data doesn't tell you if the site is safe to visit though. I suspect that the site got a hacking problem, then the browsers and search engines flagged a warning. As a result the owner has made the site unavailable while they sort out the problem. It's not uncommon.
Visiting infected site can mean that you computer becomes infected.

It is the web address used for the Bath Rugby newsletter. Here is the most recent version [bathrugby-comms.co.uk]

I'd be pretty confident that it is safe, but as with every website there is the chance it gets compromised in the future.

I'd expect you could add the address to a safe list in McAfee.

I've no idea how this site links in with the news letter but as far as I can see this site isn't active and hasn't been for several days.

We use a bulk emailer app at my work. The return address on that bears no relation to any "real" site. Perhaps Bath do the same?

Cheers,

Rich
