12.45 KO - what's to be done about lunch?

Would worry Banahan and Wilson are not a very good defensive pair. Wilson really struggled against L.I. Hopefully he was just rusty.... Banners hasn't really got the footwork to defend at 13 i would've thought.
Our squad is so light in the backs. Really odd.
Looking forward to Auterac vs Sinckler though!

I probably don't know what i'm talking about.

I think the odds are based on home advantage (?) and the pack. Particularly in the front row wher Quinn's look a bit light especially the loose head position neither option looks great. We should get some possession with our pack it depends what our 9 10 and 12 do with it. Hopefully they won't kick it all away.

I'm not trying to make you bow to my way of thinking, but the way is see it is:

I feel our pack is stronger than theirs.
We have an experienced half back partnership
Also I fancy our centres to cause more damage than theirs.

Let's not forget we are not a bad team. We've won 9/12 games this season and 2 of those losses were by a single point each, games we should have seen out.

Maybe 4 tries is a little optimistic, but I feel we will click this weekend.

I think it will be remarkable if we get a TBP, we've hardly looked like scoring 4 tries for weeks. Wonder in Banners will be motivated a bit more tomorrow to prove he is worth the 3 year deal he wants?
Weather forecast looks superb!

We lost at home to Falcons and Glos, so I'd just be happy with a win which given how many tries Quins score is going to be tough.

I am surprised that Brew or Jack Wilson (both who have played 13 before, effectively enough) and Banners (who hasn't, as far as I can remember) aren't swapped.

Looks like a good match-up to me, hard to call a result. I guess home advantage should just swing it our way (skybet has Bath by 9 which sounds generous) so I am of the same view as Beergoggles.

I can assure you that the Quins backline if last week and the problems their speed and handling caused Exeter is anything to go on, are very slick and have fast feet and pace. Walker in particular is a wonderful broken field runner and Quins will run everything from everywhere. It is their main chance of winning. Banners defence has to be water tight, especially if he wants this contract extension or improvement. Why isn't JJ even on the bench?

I agree it is possible that our pack could/must get on top but their back row with the muscular Luamanu could be a handful. Luckily for us there is no Clifford.

The key to this game is stopping possession and stopping Kitto from playing. He was very good and was the lynch pin along with the clever Smith in their attack last week.

On paper and with our pack we should win but it is going to be very tight. Our form and confidence is probably best described as fragile. I hope we take every penalty opportunity and not try the kick to the corner and maul nonsense.

Can Wilson kick if Freddie gets injured?

Any win will do and that is all I am expecting. Bath by under 5.

My last predictions of home wins fell on stony ground so its about time I (and the team) had a change of fortune.

I'll counter your Newcastle and Gloucester arguements with beating Saracens by 10 and Wasps away by 14! Both on paper were better than us.

Gloucester also followed up their win here with one against Saracens, they are no mug side.

If we had lost last week to Irish everyone on here would have been saying Saracens and Exeter would have found a way to win when not at there best. Let's give our team some credit when they do likewise!

Ah, we he is certainly more 'experienced' now (just not in the position). I noticed on the reports he is being referred to as a utility back who plays full back. Wasn't that just the 1 appearance?

I always thought he'd be better suited to 13 than 12. He's not a crash ball merchant, he's not a great distributor. But would love that extra half yards of space and can pull of those nice little pop once he'd committed his men.

Never proven to be the case on the pitch unfortunately.

He played 13, 3 times last season. Worcester (H), Tigers (A), and Scarlets (A). WLL. 1 try v Wuss.

15-16 he played 7 times. Quin (A), Ex (A & H), Wasps (H), sarries (A), Glaws (H), Tigers (A) zero tries.

14-15, 3 times. LWelsh (H), Ex (H), Ospreys (H). 1 try.

The ospreys game was 12 Burgess and 13 Banahan!

Frankly OB I am like you and wonder where the tries will come from. Personally think we may rumble a maul over their line, and win on Freddie kicking every penalty that comes our way from hopeful forward pressure. Quins will score tries make no mistake, as they have all season, and it will be down to our defence and hopefully pressurizing them into giving away penalties.

Also expect the game to be fast and loose (with the odd mistake) as Maxwell-Keys is ref. He is learning but not top rate yet, but not as bad as a certain Mr Diamond said he is.

Going to be interesting.
