I like it. Strong pack, interesting to see noguera go! Though I did think we'd see him off the bench. Kahn as an extra back rower with two distributors, a brute of an outside centre, some power on the wings and a good dose of guile at full back. What with players rested and injured, away at sale it seems the right selection. Great to see Thomas starting! Would like to see VV hit a line out, but he's handy round the park so pleased to see him start.

Perfectly feasible for us to be in 2nd by end of weekend:

Exe (40) to 45
Bath (30)to 34
Wasps (29) and Glos (32) to 33
Sarries (31) and Leics (28) to 32

....but who'd want to predict results this season! I suppose Glos must fancy their chances against injury-ravaged Wasps which would take them clear in 2nd, but would at least get Wasps off our tails. I'd probably prefer Sarries to beat Leics too for same reason.

Saints vs Exe
Wasps vs Glos
Leics vs Sarries
Bath vs Sale

That looks like a very strong Sale lineup, is that their full strength team?

They're doing pretty well for availability at the moment: Josh Beaumont, Tom Curry, Mark Jennings, Johnny Leota, Marland Yarde

A very creative selection with 2 x 10s and a 6/2 bench split but I guess we would all prefer it if these choices were not forced on us by circumstances.

Maybe Banners will play at 12 in defence, him and Priestland are certainly experienced enough to work those changes during play, as required.

It was a huge effort physically and mentally last week, it wouldn't surprise me if there was a bit if a hangover from that. Any win will do.

Will Addison (captain) also out but has been for most of the season, as has Beaumont. They are the key ones missing.

Would love a win but regardless of form we seem to struggle up there!

For those who are travelling up to the match, it has been announced that because of increased security measures no backpacks will be allowed into the stadium.
I don't know what they plan to do with the ones that are brought by those not in the know, as it doesn't seem to have been widely advertised.
Anyway, safe journey, have a good day out, but not too good. We need a win!
