Scarlets are a quality team, Wuss wasn't, Wasps are struggling.

The coaching team are getting more out of the team than the sum of their parts but injuries, no attack coach and lack of cohesion hamper us.

Not much more you can say other than we were never realistically poised to be challengers, lets just move on.

I donít agree. The coaching team are getting far less out of this team than the sum of their parts even with injuries. I know Scarlets are far better than Worc but we stifled them & that was how we should have approached this game & in my vie Phillips & Latiff should have started the game.

Todd isn't the problem in my opinion. Those looking to blame him seem to be looking for a scapegoat. Games like this one show how much we need a replacement for Matson. However you look at it we are missing a key member of staff. This along with injuries goes a long way to explain our inconsistencies throughout the season.

a) We just got shamed in every facet of the game
b) There are some teams who seem to be evolving their game plan around their attack and their offloading. Newcastle, Wasps, Scarlets, La Rochelle... we appear to be a few years behind the curve in that department.

I still donít know if Blackadder has what it takes, but interestingly him and Tabs lead this squad to miss the knock out rounds in the 2015 Super Rugby:

Forwards:
Ben Funnell
Codie Taylor
Ged Robinson
Wyatt Crockett
Owen Franks
Nepo Laulala
Joe Moody
Tim Perry
Luke Romano
Sam Whitelock
Domninic Bird
Jimmy Tupou
Scott Barrett
Richie McCaw
Kieran Read
Jordan Taufua
Matt Todd
Luke Whitelock.

Backs:
Andy Ellis
Willi Heinz
Mitchell Drummond
Daniel Carter
Tom Taylor
Colin Slade
Ryan Crotty
Robbie Fruean
Kieran Fonotia
Johnny McNicholl
Joni Macilai
Nafi Tuitavake
Nemani Nadolo
Israel Dagg

They lost heavily in the quarter finals in 2016. In 2017 with no McCaw or Carter they won the competition with a rookie coach after Todd and Tabs had come to us.

I really, REALLY want Blackadder to lead us to success because he speaks sense and is really nice. But I donít really feel we are any closer to even having an identity after 18 months.

So who is to blame for the absence of this key member of staff who is going to turn everything round for us? Every team in the Prem has an appalling injury list so I think we need to park this excuse.

Why are they so inconsistent?

I'm wondering if that good year with Ford was a blip or a sign of our potential - because the next year was painful and the two years with Todd scarily similar.

I'm loathe to change coaches, partly because I don't know who is out there that could change things.

I'd be tempted to pry away Stephen Jones with a HC job, mind. Scarlet's unstructured play is a thing of beauty.

Come on guys let's get real. We have a huge number of players out, including faletau, louwe and rokoduguni to name but a few. We lost our first choice 10 after 1 minute. We've got some young lads out the who are barely out of their break out season (Obano, mercer, dunn) and we got beaten comprehensively by arguably the best attacking team in Europe. From a neutral perspective the rugby on show first half was sublime.
We will come top 6 this year. That's all.

Personally I think we do need a bit of a freshen up in the backroom and maybe a skills coach, someone who can focus on tackle technique and breakdown. Scarlets were superb at wrapping the ball up in the tackle and blocking the support off the ball.

As we left the Rec at half time we saw Mike Catt, wonder if that is a coincidence. At least under Ford we had an attacking game and were exciting to watch.

More to do with the 20th anniversary of the HC, get together I imagine.
