Match fixing
16 January, 2018 13:36
We are all aware of the problems with match fixing in cricket and football, and I wonder if rugby is immune to it. I base this on a few instances seen this season involving clubs from outside these shores where there have been circumstances that have been bafflingly peculiar in the way in which they affect the score.

For instance, Ashton's brainfart in Toulon that allowed JJ to score stemmed from Tuisova taking a throw in that defied human logic. In the return match, it was Tuisova again who merely jogged towards Watson as he ran along the line before straightening and scoring.

Take also Clermont, who have struggled in the Top 14 this season and were recently on course to win their first away match in ages when their porp decides to wallop one of the opposition right in front of the posts.

Theses are just a few examples of peculiar things that happen especially in France, where teams run hotter than volcanoes one day, and colder than ice the next.

If any of the moderators want to delete this post, then I won't take offence. I'm not too clued up on slander and libel law, though I hope this is neither.
