No Friday Night Rugby
23 February, 2018 17:58
Doesn't seem to be a game on BT Sport tonight.

Guess the other members of the Friday night mob are playing away.

Surprised they didn't change our game again !!!

Bizarre looking stadium in Marseilles. Definitely should be the blueprint for the New Rec just to annoy Worthy and his cronies.

Aaaargh! No! It's Butler and Davies again! Another match to watch with the sound off.

At least France get the 1st try, quickly followed by a penalty try for Italy.

Joe Worsley could give Steve ‘interesting’ Davis a run for his money too. Defines the term ‘dead pan’.

Less 'dead pan' more 'dead from the neck up'.

Butler really is so bad. We say it every time he commentates, yet the Fwits at the BBC still waste our licence fee on him.

Scale that down to 18,000, and it would look quite good, on the Rec.

Worsley needs to, punctuate his sentences better rather, than pausing unexpectedly.

It sounds a bit like Joey Barton’s French twang I thought B4B. Pretty terrible game, those two would struggle in the prem I think.

The TV production wasn't great either, replays of key moments went missing so we got shots of the huge stadium rather than a slow mo of why Barnes gave decisions.

It was as though every facet of the match was B team.

I am certain the other 2 matches will be more intense.

"It was as though every facet of the match was B team. "

This. Players, commentators, ref, camera men. But I didn't want to say it because whilst I thought Wayne was making some interesting calls, it's still his game.

Just think EB is probably on £150,000 pa! Now I know why I resent paying my license fee!

this sounds fairly typical.
you resent paying your licence fee because of something you've decided is "probaby" true - but 60 seconds on google will tell you isn't.

Of the rugby commentators, only Inverdale, Logan and Davies make the list of £150k+ salaries; all of whom do multiple sports, with the first 2 doing basically every event going on the BBC.
The annual license fee costs about the same as 6-8 weeks worth of BT or Sky - so quite honestly, the 6N is worth the fee on its ownl BBC Earth is worth more, and let's face it, about 1/3 of all television watched in this country (with another 1/3 or so for ITV, C4 and C5 combined)...

Well even £10 is too much for Butler. He is a dreadful rugby commentator by any stretch of imagination.
