2 strong teams ad 2 strong benches. Let’s hope their recently patchier form sees us through.

That's one of our better benches of the season. The starting pack has a nice balance to it, and at least the inside backs have the benefit of playing a second consecutive game together. Which Bath team will show up. I'm assuming neither of them, given the weather conditions.

That's the strongest bench I think we've put out in a long time.

Quins won't be a pushover at home, but I must confess I'm happy to see Marcus Smith on the bench. He is a dangerous player, but I'm guessing the conditions might not suit him.

Fair play to Wilson, totally deserves to keep his place. Good to see Banners back, it's going to be more of an evening of direct running rather than throwing the ball around I guess.

Looking forward to it, that and The Clash are games I can actually walk to from my house!

Strong Quins team (good to see Saili back after his horrendous injury).

Dan Evans talks about controlling the breakdown given the threat of Wallace et al, so hopefully our back row can win that battle.

Hope Tapuai has a stormer and finds a bit of form (show his new club what they're buying maybe?).

Any kind of win will do imo. We can do it! COYB!

Probably the best team available and should do the job, apart from starting with Fotuali'i.
Can't believe he is starting taking into account his current lack of form.

I would probably have Vuna in over Brew, I think he’s been a bit subdued the last couple of weeks, maybe carrying a knock as his knee’s been heavily strapped.

Good to see Nathan Catt back. Tom Ellis now in full training - could be we'll see him again soon.

Hopefully it won't be too long until we see Flouw back in action too - would be good to have him for "the Clash".

Vuna has filled in just fine but he is clearly not at his fighting weight quite yet, which is totally unsurprising as he didn't play for quite a while. As such, Brew rightly starts over Vuna for me at the moment.

Very excited to see / hear about some of these long term injured coming back (Homer, Ellis, Catt etc.).

Certainly looks a much better Bath side and bench on paper than we have been able to put out for sometime now. Lets just hope they can put in the performance that talent warrants!

Quins side looks very good, and interesting to see they are keeping Smith back. Wonder is he carrying a knock? Their back row is big and lumpy. especially Luamanu at 8. He is immensely strong and carries hard.

If they have a weakness, it is at scrum half where Lewis has not really done much or played for that matter. If he goes off, the replacement is the aussie Ian Prior who again has not played much. I have a feeling Quins want to try and keep it tight especially early on and play percentage rugby, then look to attack and go wide, when the teams are tiring in the last 20 minutes or so. Tim Visser needs to be carefully marked as he is a real danger.

I truly believe if we go to play with the right frame of mind and aggression, we can win this and anything less than a losing bonus point would be very bad indeed. This no doubt is the kiss of death, but I predict Bath by under 5 points.

C'mon you Bath. Lets get a try bonus point as well.

Live 5miles from the ground, its just whether they decide the cold weather and freezing conditions are too bad to play. Pitch will be frozen rock solid, but thats no real difference to playing in mid summer...
Barely got above freezing for last 3 days. Its not bad but modern player and supporter welfare will probably mean they call it off.

If they do i hope they call it off early.

It's often the surrounding areas that concerns the powers that be. You cant really issue a 'sky blue pink' weather warning and then ask people to rock up for a sporting event.

Forecast suggests the worst (or best) of the snow is away from London so it may be OK tomorrow night. Certainly hope so.

Given that supporters are travelling a distance if if's not off by tonight then postponing in the morning is a bit late I'd have thought!

But the tent will have to come off at some point before the players get on and then do they run the risk of the game being abandoned part way through if air temperature makes this a possibility?

Play the game with the tent in place! A whole new concept, kicking could be tricky, might need to shorten the posts. They need an early decision.

Could have something there B4thB4ck, suggest to PGT in the stadium thread that we need a really low roof at the Rec. It would eliminate kicking and they would have to run everything!

A few Quins regulars. Smith, Sinkler, Ward and Matthews on the bench is a little surprising.

Here’s a thought.

We’ve struggled successfully through the first half of the season with a team weakened by injury unavailability.

Now, running in to the end of the season we are starting to get injured stars back on the field. With my glass full that bodes well.

For those planning to travel:

AN UPDATE FOR SUPPORTERS AHEAD OF HARLEQUINS' MATCH AGAINST BATH RUGBY (FRIDAY 2ND MARCH, KICK-OFF 19:45).
Despite the adverse weather conditions many are experiencing across the country, and while the Club cannot guarantee the match won't be cancelled, it is highly unlikely that Friday night's match against Bath will be called off.

The pitch has been covered by a protective dome since Monday 26th February and will be kept on until Friday afternoon when the temperature is expected to rise.

All public areas are being gritted and plans are already in place to deal with any snowfall between now and kick-off.

All surrounding areas are also being gritted – including the A316, and the car parks (including the Rosebine) will also be in use.

In the unlikely event of the match being cancelled, the Club will announce it on social media, on quins.co.uk and will email and text all Members and supporters for whom we have current contact information.

To keep up to date with the weather please visit the BBC website here and for travel information, please visit TFL and South Western Railway.

For Members who are unable to attend, don’t forget that you can forward your ticket to a friend by using Ticket Forwarding or put it up for resale using Ticket Resale in the MyStoop portal of quins.co.uk.

Refunds are no longer available on tickets for this match as it will take place in less than 48 hours. In the event of postponement, tickets will remain valid for the rearranged match. Anyone who does not wish to attend the rearranged match can claim a refund by contacting the Ticket Office more than 48 hours prior to its kick-off.

Outrageous stance from Quins regarding refunds IMO. I've no idea how bad travel is for you further down in the South West, but here in Hampshire as authorities have been saying, travel is only advised if essential. I intend to heed that advice.

Quins it seems require the paying fans to be able to predict how bad the weather will be 48hrs before a game if we want our money back. No consideration made for just how unusual the weather has been this week and quite how much forecasts too have changed. That and the fact we in Hampshire are yet to face the worst of the weather this week.

I'm not risking my life nor my sons, but face losing £82 because just this once, for such unusual weather, they can't make an exception. I also acknowledge that are far worse for those in and around Somerset/Dorset so many have it considerably worse than I do so I'm not the only one.

And all in the period they announce a potentially very profitable deal with NZ rugby.....not happy at all given its one of very few chances I get to see Bath in a year and its down the drain.

I'm very surprised they haven't postponed the game. They could for instance have moved the game back to Sunday when it looks like the weather will have eased. I can understand their stance on refunds but not not on the desperate need to play the game this evening and put their staff and the travelling supporters at risk. I wonder how much of this is Quinn's decision and how much is due to BT Sport ?

The Arsenal v Man City game went ahead yesterday and the ground was half empty. I would expect the same at the Stoop tonight.

Wasn't that also due to the poor form of Arsenal recently? Got to hurt when the season tickets are up to £2013.

I saw a few things from the quins social media where their fans were speaking of a boycott (or sitting in silence) - JK has asked that they turn up and support the team...

Doesn't the Emirates stadium have under-pitch heating?

With temperatures forecast can easily pitch freezing quickly after the tent is down

Are we absolutely sure that it's currently absolute standard practice; and that things might possibly change once it's known if things will be changed or not?
Currently, the match is on, so no reason to offer refunds.
Of course, the statement also says that the ticket is valid for any postponement, and that if you can't make the postponed date, then refunds will be offered.
This really doesn't seem all that terrible to me.

The only time this might become a real issue is if it's postponed by 24 at less than 24 hours notice (so not being able to make the postponed fixture, but not having enough noticce to automatically qualify) in which case I'd have a degree of faith that common sense would prevail - but there's not much point talking about every contingency plan just yet - the match is still on after all.

A shame that it's off but completely understandable given the trains. Sounds like it was out of Quins' hands.

Question - Are clubs allowed to change their squads when a game is postponed? Let's say Burns' wrist or Garvey's knee is ready to go by Sunday, would they be allowed to be subbed into the squad?
