Looks like some players will be in SA and France at the same time; but if this team is accurate; we really should be expecting to win the thing:

1. Sevillie, Trinder
2. Walker, Oghre, Cutting
3. Street, Heyes, Painter,
4. Isiewke, Scott
5. Lamb, Basham,
6. Earl
7. Curry, Curry
8. Willis

9. White, Brand
10. Smith, Grayson,
11. Ibiotye,
12. Redpath, Hardwick,
13. Dingwall,
14. Loader, Olowofela
15. Parton, Crossdale

I think they have to be under 20 as of January 1st of the tournie year - making Joe Coker about 6 weeks too old

Cheers WT. Pretty clueless about that sort of stuff!

Certainly looks a great squad!

We really should expect to win it. Unfortunately the junior ABs will think the same - they were awesome in the 2017 final.

Ben Loader (L.Irish) on the wing isn't small and looks a good player. One to look at for Brew replacement in a couple of years. (Sm100)

It is the other Willis, Tom not Jack. Although I see Ben Earl is listed here and also on the senior squad. It will be really interesting to see Marcus Smith play against people his own age!

It should have been announced already mate and I don't get the delay but I think it should be this week that it should be announced, it will be posted on the England rugby page when the squad is picked i am sure

Not very different from that named by the OP. Still feel a bit sad at having not one Bath player in the 28 with Worcs with 4 and Tigers with 5 etc.

England’s first game is tomorrow, it doesn’t seem to be on TV, possibly available to stream via the website although that might depend on where you are watching from.

If someone comes back on a switch or cuts a great line, then a guy out of position may have to make a quick decision and suddenly becomes the tackler. He may not have time to bend at the knees.

Surely they have to also look at the problem of attacking players ducking into tackles?

Going by previous years; they're streamed on the World Rugby website - but geo-blocked in countries that have a broadcaster.
Geo-blocking can be gotten around; so then it just depends on whether anyone in the UK is actually showing it (I haven't looked around yet).

IIRC ITV had it the last couple of years - hidden away on ITV4 of something - they onlty showed the England matches; but had the rights to all, so all were geo-blocked.

ETA: Linkie: [www.worldrugby.org]
ETA2: ITV4 are showing the highlights Wednesday evening at midnight; so it may be geoblocked

As ever the Welsh are better served. Australia v Wales is on S4C (Sky channel 828) at 8pm tonight.

(They even had the Leinster v Scarlets game on Saturday, though without the option of English commentary.)

Update: England were on World Rugby site, though moins commentary. Good win over a feisty Argentinian team.

Did anyone else watch the two games tonight?

England clung on after making basic errors and giving away silly penalties and had a msn in the bin for the last 10 mins. After a 19 nil lead like their seniors.

The French ABs game was a different level of skill and endeavour. That 17 year old French no 8, monsieur Joseph, is better than Vanupola, quicker, faster, better handler and the tight head who is 19, should be signed by Bath now. Absolute animal in the tight and loose and so mobile and has wonderful handling skills. Joseph is going to Racing 92 next season.

If France play as well again in the Sunday final, I fear England will experience a cricket score. We will see.

Demba Bamba is the name of the right head, he did look seriously good.

The guy Kpoku playing in the second row for England look a good prospect too - absolutely enormous for a 20 year old.

Yes two very good games last night - and indeed each totally different in character.
I thought that England played a better skills game than SA who relied heavily on forward grunt. Again France / Nz was a more forward driven game but equally intriguing.
Quite a pleasure to see such young men working so hard to play the game.

Final England / France on ITV4 at 5.00pm on Sunday 17th.

England need to chuck it around, their backs have some serious skill. They were outmuscled by SA when they tried to take it up front, Curry and Joel Kpoku aside (Sarries again...).

Re: JRWC

I must say Sarries seem to have their recruitment right with the flow of another big nasty tough second row coming after Kruis, Itoje and Isweike. These guys give you go forward, shore up the scrum, provide good clean lineout ball, carry well making holes in defences and can get around the field. Just what we should be looking to do.

Build a pack that you can rely on to win ball and slow up opposition sources and the game is very much easier. Please Bath start by recruiting the biggest and best lumps we can find.

Kruis is 28 now...Dom Day, Skelton etc were still imported. Success does breed more success though and they have a decent catchment too.I'm looking forward to seeing Douglas get some more game time this year, he doesn't take a step backward for sure, looks like a pugnacious type.

As an aside, Duncan taylor must have the record to the thinnest head in world rugby?

I thought that England played to the French strengths at the start by going through too many phases by the forwards.
The more free-flowing play at the end was more to their style and skills.
All-the-same they were never out of the game and gave the French lads a good challenge in their own back yard.
A good advertisement for the game as a whole.
