I had to spec a site with fast charging units (150kw) recently and they were over £20k each. To fit 2000 of them in one place would not only need an outrageous power feed (300Mw is a lot!!) but also one hell of a pile of cash. The slow chargers (like the domestic ones) are obviously cheaper but I suspect will already be old news when this thing is built as the ‘new generation’ of vehicles are carrying much higher capacities.

Thought provoking article for sure and with BathMatt's insight too it does set a challenging question of whether the current plans are designed for the now or what will be needed by the time it is built and looking forward?
