Started listening to her latest release, Banga, tonight in preparation for Thursday and it's really good. Her voice is softer but her words are as powerful as ever. The band are in cracking form and this is light years ahead of her last release, Twelve.
Absolutely brilliant gig last night and a very diverse audience - I wasn't aware she was so popular with the young people! I just hope I'm sounding that good at 65 (although it's unlikely as I can't carry a tune in a bucket now!).
Rob Webber - my hooker for 2013/14 (I'll try not to break this one mid-season!)
1,700 were enthralled by a performance that will live long in the memory - what an artist. A mix of new tracks [5 I think] with a range of classics - Gloria was unbelieveable - in almost 2hr. Her voice was as good as it was in the 70's and her band were really tight. A standing ovation from a full house at the end was more than justified. Well done Bath Music Plus - bring her back soon please.
For BBandW - You tube links for 5 of the songs here I didn't make these recordings but predicted they would be up within 24hr and sure enough... If you get the chance to see her elsewhere on this tour grab the opportunity.
