So with Biggs in who do we think might on the move from Bath Cuthbert or Stephenson? If Rico is going I'd take either of them myself

With Benjamin, Garvey, Pennall, Penn and Rooney, I would rather spend extra on halfbacks

Problem there JP is Rooney and Pennell are our fullbacks for next year, with Chris covering wing, that leaves us Marcel and Miles really and no injury cover.

Re: News - Player movements
With no Injuries you can selct any of the following for the back 3

Rooney
Pennell
Penn
Benjamin
Garvey
McCrae

We also have Walker to step in (as we will possibly have Jones, Carlisle and a world class player for flyhalf.

We will also have Sammy, Rass, Groves and King in midfield Grove and King can both play on the wing.

I feel we have more tha enough cover in the backs.

What we need is to spend whatever we save on Rico's on getting the best halfback we can afford.

JP

Re: News - Player movements
MaCrea was a one year deal so might not be here, same with Jones whose contract is up and has expressed interest in going to Wales. Rass is also out of contract and Sammy has not agreed to stay yet either JP. So your list, with the players not signed for next season is more like

Miles
Marcel
Pennell
Penn
Rooney
Walker
Carlise
King
Grove

That is 9 players for 6 positions and no real cover for injuries and dips in form IMO

Re: News - Player movements
I would note that our horrible injury problems of last year was based on having a small squad of players, and saying we had cover 3 deep, when most of those names were duplicates.

Eg. Centre cover is fine currently, but if say Grove and then Ras got injured, not only are you looking thin on the centre (but thats ok its what cover is for), you are looking thin on the wing also, because your cover has gone and got injured (fine until Miles goes and does and achillies - then you are up a creek - especially after Rooney went and got a stinger meaning he is out for this weeks game with Glouuester).

I would spend at least a little of the Rico saving on a squad winger,

Also you may lose Miles for International windows same with Grove so that reduces your 9 to 7 for maybe 6-8 weeks of the season.

Re: News - Player movements
Depends BBW you have Callum and Adam Black as well as Matt and tight we have Dave of course and Gilding so we need a tight for sure, and maybe another prop on top. But backs as TVM said I feel a squad winger will be needed. If Rico stays on lower money great but my gut says he is on his way out of the club. Also both the guys I mentioned are english qualified so more money for the club that way.

Tuqire from Tiggers to Tigers

Not really relevant here, but has a mildly amusing symmetry. He is also the last of the NRL trio drafted into the Wallabies for the 2003 World Cup to return to League.

The player will be as Goode as he is allowed to be within the DoR's game plan.

If he is allowed to be pivotal in our future gameplan, knowing Mr Goode's 'style', we are in for a quite different gameplan in future...if he is coming to our turf in the Summer

Let's see and hear what the PR has to say(Sm100)

IMHO a really good signing for you guys.

He is a solid 10 with an incredible boot on him and fairly solid defensively.

With his kicking range he should be able to put your put deep into opposition territory and leave your forwards to have some fun.

I wonder if Shaun Perry might be tempted to make the same move?
