Had a decent game, a little harsh by the Ref in giving him a yellow IMO.

Looking at the seriously class act players he is surrounded by can only be great for his game.

His foot was behind the try line no penalty or yellow

Re: Goode on Sky at the moment
I thought the aussie commentators were rather contemptuos of a Northern hemisphere fly half .

Comb over
Foode
Can only kick etc all came out

Drop goal was world class actually

His re-start kicking was excellent too - put the Waratahs under all sorts of pressure. And he gave a great pop inside pass after beating his man, which would have set up the winning try if the ref hadn't wrongly judged it forward.

Great signing for us. I really would prefer it if he cut his hair off though.

Hair does need dealing with and I hope we dont see the victorian beard. Rugby seems ok though.

Couple of my mates from LI think we are barking signing him. Dont think they understand the depths of our desparation.

I hope that you have politely pointed out that Ryan Lamb has hardly set the world on fire!

Re: Goode on Sky at the moment
The commentators also said if he keeps trying to do drops he better go back to England as we don't what that rubbish here. Do you think that the Australians have got a chip on their shoulder abour drop goals!!

I generally like the Aussie commentators, but they were a bit malicious

Re: Goode on Sky at the moment
Place kicking was spot on

Defence is a bit worse than I realised.

Overall much better than we have got.

The sharks may not have won yet but they have many seriously gifted players. I hope goode knows what he is doing!

Re: Goode on Sky at the moment
Sheldon I agree fully about his defence it has looked non-existant in the S14 games I have seen him play in which is a concern. Didn't lool interested in making a tackle - not sure if he is holding back for us but doubt is as next season is still a long way off yet.

Obviously his kicking last night v Brumbies was spot on especially out of hand.

Re: Goode on Sky at the moment
He seems happy enough to tackle his opposite number and had a couple of decent goes at tackling Giteux but simply didnt bother if George Smith ran at him.

Re: Goode on Sky at the moment
Given that he was an emergency signing by the Sharks I'm guessing that they are a little short of cover at 10. It could be, therefore, that he is under orders not to go mixing it with big beefy forwards, as the team can't afford for him to get broken!

Just a thought.

Whatever you do, do it safely!

Hadnt thought of that. May very well be true.

I wonder of his contract requires him to tackle in ND1?

Re: Goode on Sky at the moment
I think Goode is the right man for the job, Willie Walker may be consistant but sometimes I feel that when he attepmts to play expansive "Sexy rugby", he is rather predictable.

Andy Goode has can kick further out of hand, drop kicks and place kicks. He can comfortably slot them from half way and he also knows how to get a team going forward. He may be no "spring chicken" but at 29, he has years left in him.

He has also only played 3 games for Sharks and racked up 28 points, thats not bad going.

Re: Goode on Sky at the moment
Did any one watch him vs the Highlanders?

He was very good, covering breaks in a full back position well, generally doing his stuff before he went off injured.
