Laugh a minute Ryan at Sixways - don't think so.

Dean Ryan and John Brain what a double act that would make !!.

Just think a bit before all the negatives!
The players might be in need of an ex high class player to tell them in simple plain english what to do.
He would have a higher visability. Both to the squad and us as supporters.
I dont care if he has no easy smile and we all know there is something seriously wrong currently with the coaching set up at sixways.
For me,if there is a grain of truth in it, then at least I might smile again to think that CD has taken some action at last.

Dean Ryan reunited with Marcel? Could be interesting given Marcel's comments about in him in the press shortly before he 'left' us!

In all seriousness you could do a lot worse than DR. He may have lost the plot at Glaws somewhat towards the end of his tenure but he remains an astute rugby man whos certainly not afraid to make big decisions.

Good luck for the rest of the season (except the final day obviously).

Re: New DOR
IMHO the only way that a new DoR or head coach will make it is if his name is Sanderson intial P or Pat leaves the club.
Three head coahces in 6 years - name the link(Sm14)
As much as Pat has contributed on the pitch, players cannot dictate who and who will not coach them.

Word on the street is whether you stay in GP or not, MR is history and DR is the new messiah.

I recall a few months ago now on another thread I put Dean Ryans name forward - and got roundly ridiculed for the suggestion.
he would be good for this club, and IF player power is the reason for our demise then he would / does have the steel to sort it out.

ball-cocks.

The man has incredibly abraisive personality. The scare em straight attitude only works if the players respect them (eg Shaun Edwards), it just demotivates and annoys them if they don't - and it is ultimately why he left gloucester - his man management is cr@p.

It would be a bad fit and we'd see no improvement - all IMHO of course

Re: New DOR
I honestly believe that there are only two factors that have led to our present situation, Ruddock and Sanderson.

They have been watching each others back since Ruddock arrived to the detriment of our club.

For reasons I cannot explain Worcester seem to regard Sanderson as some kind of irreplaceable talisman, why???

I said in a post at the end of last season that if Sanderson was made Captain again we were doomed to another season of mediocrity at best.

We need to pension Sanderson off and get a new DOR with passion who will not be dictated to by ANY player, and also professional, capable coaches. Not ex mediocre players with no coaching ability (please don’t even think of making Sanderson a coach).

I know such people are not exactly beating a path to our door but I am sure they can be found.

Re: New DOR
Spot On!!

I have been saying he same for over 18 months, it was the reason I did not rnew my two debentures.

I was more than happy to give my financial support(well over £10,000 over the last 5 seasons) when I believed and trusted the make-up of the club.

I no longer believe in what is going on at the club and the way it is being managed so why should I give any financial support.

I still want them to do well but until the light dawns and some big changes at the club I will spend my money supporting WRFC and my family.

End of Season party will be a sad day for Worcester.

Will we ever recover?

Prediction:

Sale - 37
Leeds 32
Falcons - 31
Wuss - 28

3 wins all season is a disgrace and demonstrates how poor we really are.

Re: New DOR
The problem is he will probably coach here in the Championship and we CANNOT afford an apprentice coach to take us back up

When Leeds went down they recruited BACK

When Quins went down they recruited RICHARDS

When Saints went down the recruited Mallander

Sanderson will never get us back up!!

I posted a while back that a contact had pointed out that PS was not well liked by quite a lot of the Squad. If there is disharmony in the dressing room performance will suffer. There is I feel a personality clash between CL and PS. No I feel the Capt should make a complete break from Sixways.

We are bottom and deserve to be for a few seasons we have clung on to the Premiership and nothing has been done to rectify this through recruitment and coaching. I don't know why either other than financial decisions as it doesn't make sense otherwise. It's very sad we are in this position and without being negative I can't see us getting out of it I do hope I'm wrong. I haven't been to a game all season which is a first for me as I've supported Worcester rugby for over 30 years frustration has got the better of me.

Right now, even after a very shaky start, not many Glaws fans remanice about Dean and what hi did at Glaws....this is a man who suggested that his clubs own supporters knew nothing...nice!

I can see many on this baord who dislike MR for doing little good, warming nicely to DR suggesting they know sweet...

When the club jettisoned huge squad numbers MR was wrong...when he barely recruited, MR was wrong, when he arrived and all we moaning about Brain, he was the piece we needed.

He may not be part of the Sixways jigsaw, but DR is a completely different puzzle altogether IMO.

Now this may be a long shot, but this is what I think...

The whole Vainholo hair brade issue may suggest a link to Worcester (or leeds but I'm an optimist!).

We have targeted our recruitment towards the south west, Cracknell, Crocket?

All sorts of rumours about Dean Ryan are being raised.

Could Dean Ryan be on his way to worcester bringing a few Glouc players with him?

Make no mistake Pat is the best thing that has happened to WRFC and Jp you are showing the first signs of dementure

Besides Dean Ryan, what other names are viably in the mix?

Rob Andrew seems to be under an increasing amount of pressure and looks likely to take the fall for the English Six Nations mess. What would people say if he made his way to us?

COYW, I honestly give praise and critisism as I see it.

Sometimes he is good, sometimes he is outstanding, sometimes he is very poor all I do is say it as I see it at the time therefore my words will change from praise to crtisism.

I am not set in my ways about anything and if something can be shown to alter my opinion I will happi;y change and support my views.

At this point in time Pat is not performing as a captain, leader, motivator well enough for me to support him.

The team and clb are far more important than any individual, albeit a player. a coach or a manager if there is a faulty part then replace or repair it before it damages the whole.

When does Dean Richards ban end, i'd have him at Worcester like a shot, as for Sanderson, he's past his sell by date and God help us if he becomes coach.

Ruddock do the honourable thing and move on, your not good for out club, we've gone backwards!

I would sell all of my posessions*...and all of all of yours as well to get Ian McGechan in. I KNOW its a long shot, but every time I see someone say who is availible? That is the name that springs immediately to mind.

*this is hyperbole - but I would still quite happlit sell all of your posessions for the cause

Didn't think Keast was involved in the big boys version of Rugby anymore?

No problem with Geech, but when superstellar players names are mentioned, there is much decrying of such suggestion...so why would a superstellar coach come to us?

Not decrying the name, just asking why woudl/could it happen...

SB>..so why would a superstellar coach come to us?

The difference might be that a strong coach/DoR would, given the resources and a free hand, be able to influence the progress of a team, whereas a player, however superstellar, would always be at the mercy of decisions of others.

Abberley

I understand that a Coach should be able to achieve more than one player in the superstar stakes, but i'm not too sure if they are given that sort of mandate, ever.

Before Geech went to advise Glaws, he would have been a good one for the Board advisory role, to comment on MR. Either we didn't try for him, or were too slow, despite having the probs we currently have. Whether his Midas touch is reaping benefits or not is not for discussion.

I have no problem with him coming...far from it, but alledged wonger seemed to be a 'tag' for the name, that was not ever far away in past discussions too.
