Hopefully he will settle in quickly and provide some solid competition to Singleton.

Nice to see the club getting injury cover in like the other clubs do.

Interesting that Gold has done the soundbite for Kurt's arrival, and not A N Other from the club while Gold is otherwise engaged.

C'mon you Billtong Boys!

It was on the offie but the stories rotate so if you look at the wrong time you couldn't see it.

I'm hoping he's capable of place kicking.

A place kicking Hooker. That would be something to behold, and arguably worth the entrance fee alone(Sm1)

Do we now need to sign a centre?

When I played at school our hooker did a lot of the kicking, he was rubbish but slightly better than the rest of us.

12. Mills/Butler/Lance
13. Willison/Stelling/Heem/Hammond

Think we'll be alright.

No including the fly half, our kicker was the hooker. In fairness around 15 he had a growth spurt and moved to the back row but continued kicking duties and continued to be fairly rubbish at them.

Heem and Hammond are not part of our Centre arrangements imo. Primarily Wing men, Centre-ish if we are really stuck.

Kurt looks pretty decent from those clips.

In the centre, I wonder how far Ollie Lawrence is from a premiership debut. He looks good in attack, no idea what his defence is like.

At least a year Id say. Only just turned 18 and still in school. Hopefully straight into the academy soon though. Looks a cracking prospect though.

Doesn't fill me with to much confidence! I'd say we definitely need aother experienced centre looking at that.

At 12 we have an almost constantly injured player as first choice and our best fly half as cover.

If Willison gets injured we definitely struggling at 13

Fully agree with you Ake1985, that we are light in centres before the injuries and currently we are very light.
Would love to see us signing a Southern Hemisphere cover until their season starts in Feb.

He looks grizzly and sufficiently ugly to frighten the opposition front row into submission!!

I wish I thought that.

Heem is one of our best players, he's great on the wing but every time I've seen him at centre it's been a horror show.

I thought we needed another centre before all the injuries tbh.

On that evidence we certainly do. Mills has yet to return from injury for any sustained period and Heem is a very good winger but not a centre.

You're putting Mills and Lance as options at 12, but realistically with Heathcote's injury problems we are going to have to play one of them at 10 (the discussion of who you play 10/12 between Mills and Lance is an interesting one too). Therefore, our main back-up for 12 is an academy lad - Ok he is promising, but centre is a lot more punishing than for example when we had to throw in Adams/Shilly/Humphreys in the wing/full-back positions last season.

Anyone calling for Heem or Hammond at 13 really hasn't watched either of them enough. Great players going forward, but defensively too vulnerable.

How much game time is Andy Symons getting down the road this season?

Not a lot really. Featured in the cup this weekend, but hasn't had much, if any, time in the prem. Should've stuck around.

He's still suffering too many injuries to stake a claim, shame for him as I thought he was a good player.
