I promised myself not to get involved in the race to be first with the news...

And look how I ended up.

As good as it gets. Good to see Lewis back after last week. Surprised Spencer is on the bench

That looks pretty good.

I’m optimistic for the full 5 points. As long as we don’t keep kicking it to their back 3 that is.

Edit....don’t get me wrong, I understand territorial kicking, I just think we’re too often not too good at it.

Very good team, hope our backs avoid injury, Spencer and Bresler to come on later in the game is a frightening thought

What are the odds on Paice and DoC having an exchange of pleasantries?

Paice will have to be careful, this from premiershiprugby.com

“Paice was shown a red card for dangerous charging and making contact with the head of Willi Heinz of Gloucester Rugby, contrary to law 10.4 (g).

The incident occurred in the first half of the Aviva Premiership match between Gloucester and London Irish on Saturday 2 December.

Paice pleaded guilty to the charge and is suspended for five weeks. He is free to play again on 9 January 2018.

The chairman of the panel Aidan O’Brien said: “The panel found that this was a reckless challenge in which contact was made with the head of the Gloucester player causing an injury. The entry point was mid-range, one week was added on to reflect the player’s previous disciplinary record and, after allowing mitigation to reflect the player’s guilty plea, remorse and conduct at the hearing, the final sanction is five weeks. The player is free to play on 9 January 2018”.

Wow. Pleasantly surprised to see Hougaard and Lewis in the line-up. Good strength on the bench too.

Hougaard and Shillcock is quite exciting.

With the season we're having, anything is possible re the result!

Yes, the is as good as we could have hoped for although I too am surprised that Spencer is not starting. Probably a reward to DB for a good performance last week and probably a nod to the future and possibly a mild rap across the knuckles for Spencer's move at the end of the season too?
Either way, a strong squad. Bring it on!

And the bench split is...6-2.

(If we do very unfortunately get a number of injuries in the backs, my prediction for the first forward to go into the backs is Alafoti to play at 12)

That is the best team we can put out with Te'o and Denton on International duty.

Lets do it!!

Agree about the reward for Barry but not about a possible knuckle rap. If anything else at play probably lack of training time over the past two weeks due to his illness and potential impact on his fitness.

Whatever you do, do it safely!

Feel like this is harsh on Jonny Arr. He had a great game last week and for Hougaard to slot back in after injury must be pretty disheartening

Part of me thinks that is understandable, but the other part of me agrees with you.

Irish fan in peace, Blair Cowan is missing due to family reasons.

Looking forward to welcoming your supporters to the Madstad and hope you enjoy the craic.

May the best team win.

I'd have started Jonny too. He deserved the chance to back up his excellent performance last week in an important game this week. Plus it would have given a kick to FH who hasn't quite been on top form this season. Plus plus, think how horrified you'd be as a London Irish forward to see him coming on with 20 or 30 to go.

Expecting a win here though I feel sorry for Irish and their fans. Their plight (along with Bristol's last year) does highlight something for me - that we did well to stay up last time we came up.

Re: Team’s Up........Really!
Whispering_Death 23 February, 2018 19:42
I’m pretty confident LI would be much happier with Arr starting. FH looked sharper against Exeter, he’s our number one scrum half, Jonny knows that.

Re: Team’s Up........Really!
FlipFlop 23 February, 2018 19:50
I guess Glaws thought Jonny would be easy to combat too, and underestimated him. FH May be a sharp act but we proved we can win without him too.

Re: Team’s Up........Really!
centrethere 23 February, 2018 21:27
Feel for Jonny a bit. Pleased Barry starts as he said a run of games helps him. Cox and Bresler to come on again - they made a big difference last week. Settled team. If I wanted extras, would like to see our scrum dominate.
