If the results go our way this weekend end up in 9th place come Sunday evening.

Saints are away to Exeter and Quins home to inform Falcons. If they both get zero from the games and we get 5(will have to work really hard) it could be

9. Wuss 32
10. Quins 32
11. Saints 30
12. Irish 11

You just never know.

Come on you Warriors

Have we ever won three games away from home in a single season PJ?

PJ?

Re: We Could
FlipFlop 24 February, 2018 08:39
I doubt it. It’s been 1 away win a season or less for more seasons than we have wanted, until this season.

Quins home for is not bad, so sure that result will click, but i’d more than happy with 10 this weekend and 9th for next week after we beat Tigers !!!!

Home and aways wins since 2004

Re: We Could

It’s not quite that simple.

If we win, and Saints and Quins lose, we would all have 32 league points, and all have won 6 games, which is the second measure after league points.

The third measure is match points difference, currently,

Wuss -116
Saints -80
Quins -32

So unless we achieve a cricket score against Irish I’m pretty sure we’ll still be 11th.

The following round, however, could be a very different story.

Re: We Could
Faithful_City 24 February, 2018 09:10
TT be positive

Saints 30 +no points today = 30
Quins 32 +no points today = 32
Wuss 27 +5 points today = 32

Rose tinted glass licence we are 9th equal

JP

Re: We Could
TeflonTed 24 February, 2018 09:17
I’m not averse to the rose tinted glasses, but realism is called for when predicting.

I’ll buy the “we’re all on 32” as quite feasible, but the points difference, IMHO, is not going to be overturned.

Good job we’re not betting men, or your pint of Stella is at considerable risk .

Re: We Could
Faithful_City 24 February, 2018 09:23
I can't see how you have saints on 32. I don't feel they will come away with anything from Exeter away.

Don't forget the thread was about "We could", not I predict or think(must stop this thinking bit)

If I was going to predict it would end up

Quins 33
Wuss 31
Saints 30

I expect Exeter to turn up today. They’re in a bad run and will desperately want to get back to winning ways.

Especially against Saints even though Chiefs will have the same players missing as they did against us.IMHO only Oirish are playing worse than Saints ATM.

Re: We Could
Whispering_Death 24 February, 2018 09:45
Saints will get smashed I think. Exeter have lost three on the trott haven’t they so they will be on it.

I can see Quins sneeking a win and I expect us to record a big five point win based on the way we have mentally and physically fronted up in the last two games. It doesn’t feel like a relegation decider. More a chance to move up the table (ignoring that historically we always go backwards after going forwards...)

Re: We Could
TeflonTed 24 February, 2018 10:24
JP, well, Saints could draw.....but no, really, i misread the table.Sorry.

Bottom line, we could well be 10th, no way 9th!!!

Bonus points don’t come into it......

During Aviva Premiership Rugby points will be awarded as follows:
• 4 points will be awarded for a win
• 2 points will be awarded for a draw
• 1 point will be awarded to a team that loses a match by 7 points or less
• 1 point will be awarded to a team scoring 4 tries or more in a match

In the case of equality at any stage of the Season, positions at that stage of the season shall be determined firstly by the number of wins achieved and then on the basis of match points differential. A Club with a larger number of wins shall be placed higher than a Club with the same number of league points but fewer wins.

If Clubs have equal league points and equal number of wins then a Club with a larger difference between match points “for” and match points “against” shall be placed higher in the Premiership League than a Club with a smaller difference between match points “for” and match points “against”.

Should two Clubs have the same number of league points and the same match points difference, the Club having scored more match points “for” shall be placed higher in the Premiership League than the Club having the lesser number of match points “for”.

If the above does not establish different Premiership League positions then the Club in the higher position shall be the Club that has achieved the higher aggregate match points scored by it in the same season against the other Club.

If this still does not establish the position then the Club who has won the most matches, excluding its first Premiership League match of the season, then its second Premiership League match and so on, until it can be established which the higher placed Club is.

Saints and Quins winning albeit Quins match half hour in.

So much for the positivity of Falcons and Chiefs winning though a while to go in both games!

If Chiefs do lose then they're going through more than just a blip.

Well, I was very close.

Saints LBP and that was it. It can still be a very good weekend for us just as long as the right team gets off the bus.

JP

Re: We Could
TeflonTed 25 February, 2018 00:23
Well, a 4 point win will see us 11th, unless we score a trillion;- a 5 point win will see us 10th, unless we score a double trillion. We won’t be 9th.

And I don’t care.

An away win, however narrow, will do me fine, and I believe we will get it.

Can’t wait.

Would a neutral supporter have watched 5 minutes of that game and settled down with a beer, or grabbed the hoover and put the washing on? I'm not a neutral and was tempted by the latter. Can't see Flat's skill of the week coming from this game.

... end up having to win the last game of the season at Saints to guarantee our AP status, unless we can get the stand off position sorted in the short term. 20/21 point looked very good, 12 not so rosy.
