Openside who’s top class is leaving Edinburgh and rumoured to be coming to us,Bristol or Falcons. Solly brought him over here from New Zealand so could see him here to add to our ever improving back row resources. Solly did say were were done with back rowers but I’ve heard recently we are in for one

Some extra breakdown nous wouldn't be a bad thing given how weak it's been in the recent defeats and earlier in the season.

Bristol would be my bet but he'd be very welcome here. He and Lewis could rotate without any real drop off that way.

I think he can play 6 as well so could do the same as Scotland with Barclay and Watson and play two opensides

Falcons with more likely Euro Cup chances may be a preferred route.

Also have the SRU link don't they? Or was that, like our link, just a rumour?

Hardie is a great player and would like him here. Not sure how much we need a player like him tho. Always nice to have quality depth though

Given the high attrition rate Worcester has seen this season, particularly in certain positions, having two players of equal high quality in key roles is an excellent aspiration.

Whether the budget / salary cap and the market will allow it is of course another matter.

I think we stand a good chance of getting him if we are definitely in for him after reading an interview he made when he signed for Edinburgh. He was very complementary of Solly as was Cornell when he signed for them too.

As a player they usually look at who a team has signed and if they know people there already. He obviously knows Solly very well and plays with Cornell and we have signed some very good players for next year with the squad looking extremely good on a whole so far so I think he would be inclined to sign for us...hopefully.

He would definitely compliment our back row that’s for sure which currently looks very good going into next season.

We just need those two locks and a few more here and there and I’m genuinely very optimistic about next year for the first time ever

Need only look as far as England to see how important the breakdown is to a team.

I'd have Hardie in an instant!!

Falcons have a good line in niggly breakdown specialists already, though one more never hurts. I stand by what I said about England's problem being more tactical than personnel, but you wonder what Welch, Wilson or Graham would bring at the moment.
