Rugby inside line reporting he has signed for Ealing! Would be a good move for him, don't think he's quite up to this level.

Would be a shame as he has been honest and brave when playing for us. Maybe on another level it indicates Weir is on his way, with Jono and Shilly also, there isnít a place left ?

Sounds like a good move. He'll be comfortable at that level and will get the experience of being in charge of games. Hope it works out for him.

Would like to have kept him but understand if he went especially for the reasons stated above.

I forsee him doing really well @ Trailfinders, bulking up,leaving for Tiggers and getting in the England team! Just be our luck!

For me, Sam epitomises what is wrong with the English academy system.

Unlike Drifter, I don't have a problem with his size and believe the lad easily tackles above his weight. I also think he has all the skill sets. That is, other than good game management.

I saw him playing at Moseley when he was still with saints and even then he didn't stand out as being able to run a game.

Perhaps not four years wasted at saints but he would have learned far more playing week in and out in the Championship learning his trade.

Sadly, he was "Schooled" more than once by opposition tens this season.

Needs to step back for a season or two.
