Really pleased for him.

GJ came back in really goo form, it would be good for us if Tom does as well.

Hoping the recovery continues for Tom. As JP suggests, GJVV has proven it is possible to get back to competitive levels after this kind of injury.

With Mills out for the season it is pretty much essential.

Good news indeed. He's only 26, so if he can recover to full fitness he could still have a lot of rugby left in him. It would certainly be a shame if someone of his age had to retire early.

He would certainly strengthen our resources at 10 if he can make it back. Tom, Jono and Shilly, with the young lad in the Academy (Searle?), wouldn't be a bad set of 10s, even if Weir decided to go elsewhere.

Whatever you do, do it safely!

I do hope he comes back as fit and strong as GJ.

I don't think he was helped by the high tackle laws where I believe the changes came too late for him . I would love to see the Matthews and Snyman tackles again to be reviewed under the new laws.

I couldn't understand Barnes position at the time and the referee and linesman simply claimed not to see Snymans tackle (there was no TMO).

I sometimes think only a full out chainsaw attack on Tom would get penalised!

Way too many late hits on fly halves have been let go.

I hope heathcote comes back but mainly I hope his health hasn't been affected by the concussions and he'll and other players will be better protected in future.

Snymans was cited and got 5 weeks. Irish ref Gary Conway missed that one I think.

I wonder if the 'news' on Weir means that Tom will be leaving at the end of the season, whatever his state of fitness? 4 fly halves plus the Academy lad, with Mills and Breda able to provide cover at a push, seems a little overstocked?
