What's Up DOC?

If I have missed something on another thread I apologise in advance.

Any idea if DOC is injured as he has not featured in the last 2 league games - ones in which I am sure his leadership qualities as well as experience and physical presence would have been advantageous.

Hope he is OK.

Was told he’s fine and that his omission is strategic.

Gather that to mean he’s either on the naughty step or it’s deemed others are playing better.

Surely more likely that he has sewn into his contract a number of guaranteed weeks off and the club would want this one out of the way in case the Quins game turns out to be crucial.

Possible I suppose, but I certainly took it to mean that others were playing better and deserved the shirt.

Would not be surprised if we are looking how the " other" Accademy locks are doing.
Can they step up & can Barry step up.
DOC will be off next year. Shame yes, but family won't move over & he is a great family guy.

Thought Barry did well on Saturday. Line out functioned well also.

Gordon Ross was also complimentary about how well James Scott called the line out in the A team game at Wasps on Monday.

Whatever you do, do it safely!

Saturday -he went up into the commentary box at one point - probably for a 1/2 time chat and was on the field at the end congratulating and in the huddle

Would like to see a bit more of Bressler.

he has been injured for a while. We may see him in the last couple of games?

Bresler back for the Harlequins game apparently. I see DOC's absence as part of the transition between him leaving and Kitchener's promotion to the first team.

Spoke to DOC on Saturday, he is fit and would love to be playing but the decision is not his to make. Good handshake with Solomons after the game - he is a top bloke, I hope we have the opportunity to give him a good send off but results are the most important thing.

Remember, it's not been announced that DOC is leaving the club. There might well be a reason for this.

Fiver,
....he's not leaving the club?

There's been mixed messages on DOC. As he seems to have changed his mind on retirement but he admitted recently that he hadn't been offered a new deal by Worcester.

Has the pleasure of talking to him outside the ground while waiting for my lift after the Cavs game v Falcons and he said he wants to stay but the gist of it was it depends on his wife and every time he goes home there seems to be another addition to the O'Callaghan family!
Seeing him on Friday when he's hosting the kids season ticket holder party but probably won't be the best time to press him again about him staying.
Always enjoyed talking to him when I've had the chance.Top man.

I spoke to someone at the club who thought DOC was staying, but that doesn't mean anything was actually signed.

I would suggest it is not the end of season or next season up to xmas that would be the problem, but rather most of the summer spent in pre-season. If DOC can avoid a good part of it, he might last until Dec, on a pay per go contract.

I hope at the very least he's offered a deal until Xmas as Fatialofa doesn't arrive until November.

High hopes for Kitchener and Scott so a bit more time for them with DOC will not hurt

Maybe some others as well. Email:

“We just wanted to send you a quick message to let you know that unfortunately Donncha O’Callaghan cannot attend the Junior Warriors party tomorrow. We will get Maximus to tell him off next time he sees him.

Don’t worry though – we will still have lots of fun and games for you! GJ Van Velze is taking Donncha’s place and bringing along his friends from the team. They can’t wait to meet you all.”

Not in the mix for team this weekend, so presumably cheerleader from the stands, if he's in the vicinity at all.
