letter to Gus

Dear Mr Mackay

I have been a season ticket holder for 17 years and lead the hornblowers in the east stand.
To follow Worcester next year will cost me/us £1080. I am a disabled driver but cannot get a disabled parking pass. I am 65 years old and cannot get an age reduction. I therefore feel that commercial greed has taken over the club.

I come in every home game and travel 60+ miles return.

I have therefore taken the decision to not re join you next year as I feel I am being taken for granted.

Regards

Tim Marple

How come you don’t qualify for the 65 plus discount? And how come you don’t qualify for the disabled parking pass?

Re: letter to Gus
drifter 05 May, 2018 09:27
because there are no disabled places left and we sit in silver/ gold in the east stand. would suspect they are breaking the law but not wort it to take them on. even though there are always disabled bays available

Drifter, with respect, if it has taken you 17 years to say all this then it cannot be all bad!
Hopefully, Gus will sort a disabled parking space for you but your 'circumstances' do seem odd. As regards the price, there is no 'seniors discount' in gold and silver but there is in bronze seating areas, so, come and sit with other like-minded 'seniors' who enjoy their rugby. Why pass up on renewing your s/t when we are likely to have our best season for quite a while? That does not make sense........after 17 years!? Words like 'face' and 'nose' come to mind - but not in that order.

The price in my humble opinion is relatively fair, let’s remeber Sarries are doubling their season ticket prices this next season!

As for the no spaces left, that’s unacceptable, but I’m sure the club will be happy to help

Drifter, had I known about your dilemma before renewing I would have held back in sympathy for the lack of disabled parking spaces (nothing to be done about the lack of wrinkly discount in Gold and Silver, though I think it's wrong). I do hope you have emailed Gus directly, as this is disgraceful and I'm sure will be sorted out pronto.

I did not want to move seats. about 12 people around us have stuck to it through thick and thin. i am not prepared to move seat and equallty for the 2 of us £1080 is NOT going to be paid either. so the horn will go into retirement.

Interesting thread. 2 very different issues.

Issue 1
Disabled parking. I find it inconceivable that a blue badge holder and season ticket customer cannot be found a parking spot allowing reasonable access. Given the size of the site, this is totally unacceptable and I’d push this issue as hard as it can be pushed. Writing to Gus is a start, but just a start. In the absence of a resolution I’d probably drive onto the forecourt outside the shop, display the badge, and park the car. Wonder what they’d do?

Issue 2
Seniors discount. Very different thing. Remember 4 seasons ago there was NO senior discount of any sort, until a survey of other premiership clubs and a very public airing of the issue here, and directly to management behind the scenes, caused some movement.

What we have now is reasonable provision, and compares with the other clubs in that premium seats are not discounted, but there is some choice, and I’ve tried the East Stand high-corner position, and it’s not bad at all. Not that I’m moving from my Gold (silver price with gf rights) position. But that’s my choice, others clearly will take a different view.

It took me 5 years on the waiting list to be able to get a disabled space or any space at all. I had to buy tickets for individual games until then.

Had a very nice reply to my e mail i sent the club, slightly different to the letter i sent. they understand the position needless to say the horn will be making itself heard next year.

That is great news Drifter.

I'm pleased the club has acknowledged your concerns to encourage you back for another season.

Hopefully others who may have similar issues or concerns will feel more confident in discussing them with the club to see if a resolution can be found to get more Warriors in the stands for next season

Well done the club for addressing this issue.

Yes but poor old Drifter would have to stand up, turn round and ask a bunch of gnarled old rugby boys to show him the colour of their trousers.

Let me know when this is occurring, I'll pop over from block C to enjoy the fun.

From my seat in the south stand I won't be able to see this, and I fear I may be all the better for it.

Re: letter to Gus

agreed with the comments about contacting the club. its no good moaning and doing nothing about it. just remember the fans hold the whip hand in many ways. but i have found the club very good at listening when a complaint is done in the correct way

Fiver, I'm sure it will make the highlights programme on Channel Five if you can force yourself to watch.

I'm glad to hear you will be there next year as I sit about 10 rows behind you and you always get the crowd going. Renewed mine yesterday.😊

You mean you left it and it got automatically renewed under the opt out option? I know in the correspondence from the club renewing ST's was not do anything and it gets renewed automatically as i've said above so get worried when people say "I've renewed."

I thought they only got renewed automatically if you paid by DD this season (17/18)

People may be renewing because they usually pay by cheque, cash, credit or debit card.

If you paid by direct debit for the season just ended, you will be automatically renewed UNLESS YOU OPT-OUT BY TOMORROW, 11 MAY.

You may opt out by telephoning the ticket office on 01905 459309 (before 4.30 pm tomorrow) or email 'seasontickets@warriors.co.uk' . If you don't opt out, your first direct debit payment will be taken on Friday 1 June 2018.

If your bank details have changed from last season, you must communicate your new details by tomorrow, 11 May, to ensure that you can take advantage of the 12 monthly instalments option.

You may opt out of renewing by direct debit but still renew by other means. IIRC the early bird renewal deadline is Wednesday 6 June 2018.

I've posted the above in the hope of avoiding any confusion, or anyone arguing that they were automatically renewed without their knowledge, causing them problems. We've told the club that we are happy to be automatically renewed and have received email confirmation this morning that that will go through. I hope everyone else who can takes advantage of that option, as it will reduce the admin burden on the ticket office staff, improve cash flow and financial planning for the club, and allow the club to make plans as early as possible for the coming season, as they will know that much sooner how many season ticket renewals they will be getting.

Whatever you do, do it safely!
